He asked you to meet him in the normal spot.

He will be there a minute late, as always. He will be pacing back and forth as much as he can in the tiny space. He will say that he’s sorry, and then he will go about life as if nothing happened.

Or he will be there waiting for you, five minutes early.

You open the door and – surprise, surprise – he isn’t there. You should leave, but it will be worthwhile to see what he has to say. You’re in there for a minute, standing, before you decide to lean against the wall. He opens the door thirty seconds later, and with the bright sunlight he sees you. The door quickly closes as he walks towards you. He holds his hands out and tries to put them on your sides, but you don’t let him; you don’t want him touching your body.

You don’t see him look offended.

Instead of letting his arms fall, he pulls out his wand and puts light in the closet.

“I’m sorry, Lily.”

You only chuckle.

“I didn’t want to; I didn’t know what I was doing.” He takes another step forward, but you move out of his way again.

“You didn’t know what you were doing when you went someplace alone? You are unsure why you kissed her? You didn’t mean to put your hands up Marley’s shirt?”

As predicted, he turned around and walked to the door and walked back. After the first time he put his hand on his head. “No, you’ve got it wrong,” he said before standing in front of you again.

“So you didn’t snog Marley?”

He sighs. “It’s not what you think.” He sounds desperate.

“Oh, really? Well, then tell me what happened.”

He will tell you that he’s sorry and that he didn’t mean it; he’ll say what was rehearsed.

“I’m so sorry, Lily. I’m so, so sorry. It was meaningless. I’m not used to having a relationship last as long as ours is, and I… I just panicked. Marley was just there, and – I love you, Lily. I love you and I’m so completely sorry. It will never happen again. I promise.”

Yeah. Right.

Before you can stop him he puts his hands on your sides, and with one kiss you remember how happy he makes you. You remember how good he makes you feel. And that smile of victory reminds you why you’re here.

Putting his hands on his shoulders you run them down his chest, getting one last feeling of his body against yours, getting ones last taste of his lips before pushing him away.

“One kiss won’t change what you’ve done to me.”

His hands fall to his sides. “I said I was sorry.”

“Saying sorry isn’t helping, Lorcan. And we’re not together anymore. You cheated on me.” You shake your head. “Don’t bother wasting your breath with trying to fix things; you can’t.”

He tries to stop you as you walk past him and open the door, but you don’t let him. You don’t look back when he calls your name.
