Chapter 1: aftermath
  [Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing that is taken from the book(characters, places etc.) but the story line is my own miraculous invention!!!

Ginny Weasley stumbled over to a partly broken door and grabbed onto it for support. She could feel the tears streaming down her face and didn't even think of wiping them away. The relief flooding through her veins felt like poison. How could she, how could she possibly feel relieved when so many were lying dead.

She could not believe it, in the past hours people had fought, died and lived for one person to have the chances to end it, and end it he did. In one strike he had forced the killing curse to rebound upon its master and had finished the battle. But although it was a heroic, brave deed... Ginny was disgusted. She was surrounded by grief and pain and yet all she felt was relieved that harry potter, the chosen one, the boy who lived was alive.

She could see him even now, standing there as people flocked to see him, thank him, just touch his black torn shirt. But he pay'd no attention to them. It seemed that his only want in the world was to suck the face off of the girl infront of him (she seemed pretty intent on that outcome as well). The girl that harry was trying to eat was none other than Cho Chang.

No not ginny weasley, everyone had seemed a little shocked when just after his defeat the dark haired girl had run to him, but if harry potter decided cho chang was the better girl in some way then of course she must be. Yet despite harry's bettrayal she, ginny weasley stood there totaly and absolutely in love with him.

Fresh tears fell down her face and her throte had started to constricked. She felt useless, selfish. Her own loss was nothing, nothing compared to that of the countless familys sitting in the great hall morning their loved ones, and yet she sat there feeling sorry for herself.

"Ginny, Ginny Weasley? I...oh" A deep calming voice interrupted her thoughts. Ginny could have laughed, yes, something or someone to distract her was exactly what she needed. She turned to face the speaker, taking in dark mess'd up hair, blue eyes
and a swollen cut, set in a face she had grown up knowing and disliking.

Blaise Zabini stood there, tall powerfull, yet looking extreemly odd. The usually hard to read face was now showing a mixture of shyness and embarassment. He had she knew decided against the Voldemort movement and had instead been supporting harry in the battle. But many years of bad feeling could not quite be suppressed in her current state.

"Zabinni," She greeted in him with a attempted smile. "Is there something you want help with?" She question rather loudly trying to draw his attention back from a point just above her left shoulder where, she knew, harry was standing. "I’m sorry," he told her losing all shyness "but how on EARTH can you be in love with that prick!??!?!!" Zabinni asked looking incredulous. Ginny stood there not quite knowing what to do. The bluntness of what he said brought a completely unexpected smile to her face which slowly but surely turned into a laugh at the expression on his face.

She couldn’t stop. Ginny was standing there, in the middle of a battle field laughing her head off as tears were streaming down her face. "W-what did you call him?" she managed to choke out. He looked back at her seeming now a bit worried. "Err," Zabinni started "a, um prick." he told her running a hand nervously through his hair. But this just made her laugh harder. It felt amazing standing there letting out all her pent up emotions.

Ginny had just managed to control her laughter and was contemplating her sore stomach when Hermione Granger one of her best friends and counselor came over to join Zabinni and Ginny's small group. "Ginny," Hermione turned to her friend completely ignoring Blaise "Harry, he's... confused he's been working so hard he's..." She tried consoling "A prick." Ginny informed Hermione then shot blaise a conspiratorial smile. "I, I don't really... um" Zabinni trailed off, quailing under the look Hermione gave him.

“Don’t worry bout it miony,” Ginny told Hermione to which she raised an eyebrow. “No seriously” she laughed. “Anyway , lets go help out…” Ginny trailed off leaving Blaise and Hermione in no doubt that she just wanted a distraction.

Luna Lovegood awoke to the smiling face of Molly Weasley. She blinked confusedly as nausea hit her and the world started to spin. “A-a-ah, we can’t have you passing out again now can we.” Mrs. Weasley informed her uncorking a bottle of pink potion as she said it. “Now I want you to drink all of this, it’ll help. Trust me.” She told luna.

Luna could feel her head being tilted and then the cool glass against her lips. She opened her mouth for the liquid and swallowed it as it came. It tasted vaguely of her father ‘famous’ fresh water plimpy soup. The thought made her smile as she remembered how proud her father was when he first made up the horrible tasting soup, and how she had taken second’s to make her dad happy but instead ended up give her stomach aches for a week.

She slowly sat up. But just as Mrs. Weasley had said she no longer felt sick. Luna took in her surrounding for the first time since she had woken up; she was in what appeared to be a makeshift hospital with a mixture of qualified healers, parents and students all helping get the unconscious and injured back on there feat.

There was a muffled screamed a couple of meters away from Luna’s bed but before she had time to even turn her head she was engulfed in a slightly painful three person hug. “LUNA. Oh my GOSH!!!! I had no idea you were here. We just came here to help out and… jeeze are you alright?” Ginny asked worriedly.

Then a harried Mrs. Weasley pulled Luna’s two best friends off her and started to reprimand them. Luna felt a smile creep slowly across her face. She knew thing were going to change. She’d always known that if she thought about it but this, Her, Ginny and Hermione would always be friends, best friend’s infact. They’d get through it together.

Righto so that was the first chap for this story. Sorry it was a bit annoying but this is my first story so i'm just getting the hang of it!!! I promise i wont make the rest of it so sappy though. So id really appreciate feed back. hope it wasnt too rushed. hope you like it. so thanx for reading ill update soon

Dear Ginny,
We would like to invite you and a partner/friend to join us at Potter manner for a dancing and games night on the 7th of August.
Please rsvp quickly as we have limited tables for dinner.
Yours, Harry and Cho Potter.

Ginnervera Weasley’s glanced up from her short an extremely impersonal letter feeling the usual catch in her throat that she always felt when she read or heard those names repeated. But it was over in a second, replaced by a wave of anger.

‘We have limited tables for dinner’ She read aloud her voice now shaking with anger. Limited tables!!!!

Of course Ginny had seen Luna and Hermione’s letters. The had come weeks before her own, and had obviously been sent out in the round of friends/family invitations, with a much more ‘personal’ feel to them. They had mentioned nothing of limited room! But of course Ginny Weasley did not deserve a nice invitation. Oh no, her years of friendship with Harry meant nothing other than she should be allowed to come if there ended up being enough room to fit her of course.

She felt like tearing up the letter and chucking it in the bin, but of course she didn’t. Ginny was still trying to calm herself down so she didn’t do anything she’d regret. She put the letter on the wooden bench Luna and her (Hermione was in a flat next to her work as she had such long hours) had been using as a table and moved on to the next piece of mail as the doorbell rang.

Ginny smiled, ‘finally’ she though. Quickly she got up from her seat at the kitchen table and walked out into the hallway. Giving herself a once over in the mirror she sighed, picked up her keys and moved off to greet the visitor.
* * *
“But Ginnnnnnnny!!!” Luna whined from outside Ginny’s bedroom door. “Please just give me a clue. I mean come on! I’m your best friend for goodness sakes, don’t I deserve to know” Luna smiled to herself knowing she was using just the right tone of voice that she knew would get anything out of her friend.

“Look, Luna you’ll see him in a second when he comes to pick us up. Plus It’s not like a date, I just needed to take someone the Potters” Ginny spat the word out with as much dislike, Luna knew, as she could muster “Because you and Hermione will be far to busy with your dates to talk to me!” She stated coming out of her room.

“Uhuh. You’re not going on a date. Of course not, but then… why is it that you’ve taken the trouble to put on your favorite dress, done your hair just right, put on makeup which might I add you never do any more and…”

“Alright, alright.” Ginny cut her off mid sentence. “I like the guy okay. I just want to make a good impression. And no…” She made sure Luna didn’t interrupt “You can wait till he gets here because I’m not going to tell you who it is.” Ginny finished and stalked off.

“Humph.” Luna said as she walked up the hall and entered Hermione’s room.

“No luck for you either ay?” asked Hermione from her vanity table.

“No.” Luna told her curtly. “Honestly sometimes I wish daddy hadn’t had his garden destroyed by the Death Eaters. Pickled gurdy root was so good at getting information out of people.” She huffed. But all Luna got for her theory was a determined silence.
* * *
Hermione was just sitting in the lounge room of Ginny and Luna’s flat, about to open her most recent book (A fascinating muggle Medical textbook) hoping to get in a page or two before they had to leave, when a series of knocks on the front door disturbed her. Lifting the hefty book from her lap she jogged to the front door hoping to get the first glimpse of the mystery man that Ginny had been keeping so secret.

She brushed her fringe out of her eyes and turned the door handle. Looking out past the fly wire she saw a young man with light brown hair, tanned skin and the handsome face of Oliver Wood staring back at her.

“Oh you’re here” Said Ginny from right behind her. Hermione had been busy looking at Oliver that she hadn’t even heard Ginny come up behind her.

“I’ve got your cloak.” Luna told Hermione. Turning towards Oliver she then said “It’s very good to see you Oliver. I’ve missed our conversation.” Luna smiled at him.

“I’ve missed them a bit myself actually Luna. I’m sorry, I’ve been so busy recently” Oliver said honestly, moving forward to hug her. He gave Ginny a light kiss on the cheek and a bright smile before turning on Hermione.

“It’s nice to meet you properly Hermione.” Oliver smiled at her and they shook hands.

Hermione turned to Ginny as they made their way across the lawn. “Like your quidich players ay Gin. Must say though, I was a bit surprised when I opened the door. But he seems to have good taste if he likes you, not to mention his excellent pick up car.” She teased pointing at his bright blue combi van with amusement.

“Well. We’ll definitely make an entrance I guess.” Luna commented going in their conversation.

Ginny didn’t grace them with an answer though. She simply walked to the van thanked Oliver for opening the door and hopped in the front seat, forcing Luna and Hermione to maneuver the three broomsticks lying across the back seats, with a smirk (A.N. ummm Ginny’s the one smirking btw…lol).
* * *
So what you reckon…? 2nd chap done. I’m now in the process of celebrating. Ha!
So next chap will be some more tears shed… lol I’m sorry I know your getting bored of angsty behavior but you’ll be happy to know they won’t be Ginny’s and this will be the start of the REAL story!!! So please reply if you can,
Cheers laura (aka lozzi_babe_heart)!!!!!!!!!! Bye xoxo
Btw don’t mean any offence to combi van’s I love em!!!

Chapter 3: At the Potter (part 1)
  [Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Hiya guys! I’m sorry bout the long waits for updatesssss…….! Well anyway as you are (probably) aware I do NOT own the characters from the Harry Potter book series and movies. HOWEVER I am the proud owner of all my OC’s and the awesome (cough, cough) story line!!!!!!! J☺YAY pleeeeeease r&r. lol hope you enjoy the third installment!

                                              * * * * * * * * * *

“OMG!!!!! How the HELL did you talk me into doing this!!!! Ginny Weasley cried clutching on to Luna and Hermione as she stood on the vast oval like lawn that led up to Potter manner. She was looking extremely like the many Hogwarts students had when they’d been conned into agreeing to test out Fred or Gorges latest products. Ginny was white as a sheet with sweaty palm and nervous twitch in her right hand.

Oliver stood behind them contemplating the scene before him with a rather bemused expression. He was just turning back to the car to get his camera (a muggle version that he’d got for his last birthday) when a loud crack made him spin on the spot. Looking around his saw what had made the disturbance.

“Would you like one of my valets to move your, ehem, vehicle?” Sneered a voice from the spot Oliver was peering at. Turning, Ginny, Luna and Hermione spotted what Oliver had been looking at. A man wearing a suit and a rather snotty expression with slicked back hair and a long nose stood before them.

“Uh,” Started Oliver shooting questioning looks at Ginny. “I  well sure okay. Thanks.” Oliver decided giving the man an unsure smile.

“Good.” He replied turning to Oliver’s van. “Hem.” he cleared his throat making a note on a clipboard he held firmly in his left hand. “I think ill just send over Nahm,” he said the word sourly. “For this particular… vehicle.”

Sniffing he turned back to them, nodded and started to walk away.

“Have a good night.” Oliver called out to him smirking.

“Ahhhh… thank you. And good luck to all of you.” He glanced especially in Ginny’s direction as he said this. Then he pulled out a piece of note paper, scribbled on it then flicked his wand, making it disappear in a puff of smoke and dissaparated.

“Ooookay” Oliver said in a very good impression of the man’s high-pitched nasal voice, causing the others to laugh. Ginny gave a weak smile and regained a little of her colour.

“He wasn’t thaaaaaat bad.” Said Hermione fairly.

“Well, yes I suppose so. But I’m not sure if Nahm was one of his more trusted valets…” Oliver finished looking around suspiciously.

                                              * * * * * * * * * *

After waiting 15 min’s for Nahm to turn up, Luna was starting to wonder what they should do. Hermione was looking worriedly at Ginny who was being told jokes by Oliver in an attempt to keep her mind off the awaiting hosts. Where as she, Luna was staring at the many couples and groups making their way up to the large entrance.

Luna had just spotted a rather large lady wearing a rather hideous set of robes in the sea of familiar and unfamiliar faces. Just as she was about to point it out the obvious case of nibbly syndrome to the other she was distracted by what looked like a boy (or man) around their own age, leaning up against a tree. This was not particularly odd, but the fact that he was wearing the uniform that she had seen all the valets in drew her attention immediately.

“Nahm?” She called hesitantly to the figure.

“Yahuh,” Replied the young man. “Oh I am sorry, did you require ‘assistance’?” He called mockingly. “I was wondering when you’d notice me.” Nahm smirked as he walked out into the pool of light cast by a lamp suspended mid air.

“Yes, I can see why you got that tone from your boss.”  Oliver commented, referring to the way his boss had spat out his name with distaste. Nahm flushed red and looked sourly at the each in turn.

 When his eyes fell upon Ginny however, his expression changed dramatically.

“A very good evening to you.” He said to Ginny brushing his lips lightly on her hand to which she raised an eyebrow. His face broke into a smile “Just joshing ya. I was never really any good at introductions.” He told them smiling. “Please allow me start again.” He inclined his head to the in turn, smirked then said “My name is Nahm Khoury. I am 20 years old and I am nephew to Yuri Chang. Basically.” he added in a barely audible mutter.

“So does that make you Cho Chang’s cousin?” Hermione cut in politely.

“God no! I guess you guys are friends of Harry Potter then?” He inquired letting a small shiver escape at the possibility that he might be related to Cho.

“Well, yes we are actually.” Ginny informed him, looking defiant.

“Yep that’d be right.” Nahm said more to himself than anyone else. “It’s just that Cho is completely obsessed with her family tree… so if you were invited by her… Well basically you wouldn’t have to ask how I’m ‘related’ to her.” He informed them.

“I see.” Hermione agreed deep in thought. “But as we’re not friends with her” ‘and don’t want to be’ Hermione thought. “Would you mind telling us how you’re related?” She questioned. The other shot Hermione curious glances, as if to ask why she wanted to know.

“Uh… sure,” Nahm agreed looking unsure. “Well it’s kinda hard to explain… Basically Cho’s Grand mum’s sister had a kid called Cherrie. And my Dad, Malcolm was going out with Chez for a while,”

“Chez being Cherrie?” Hermione questioned, her habit of getting to the bottom of everything still showed.

Nahm nodded and continued. “Are you sure you wanna hear this? It’s boring just listening to myself telling it” He raised his eyebrow at them, waiting.

“Awwww come on. You gotta finish now!” Ginny whined through her teasing smile.

This forced him to join in the others laughter. “And plus, you owe us a good story for making us wait this long.” She finished still smiling.

“Fine, fine. Your funeral though.” Nahm muttered. “Well as I said, my Dad and Chez went out for a while in their teens, in England might I add. Then later he moved to America and got together with a gal called Joanna aka my mother.” The others nodded confusedly at him. “Well anyway that was when Dad was 21 but they’d broken up within 5 months of my birth and I lived with my Dad cause Joanna couldn’t cope or summat... So anyway by the time I was 2 and 11 months Dad and Cherrie met again because she’d come over to America touring for about 6 months with her latest book.”

“Wow, this was worth the wait.” Luna smiled at him. “Just quickly though, I was wondering. Where’s your Dad from?” She questioned.

“Dad? Oh he’s from Israel, basically he looks like me I guess.” Nahm told her airily drawing their attention for the first time to his appearance. Nahm had dark curly hair, tanned olive skin, blue eyes, an adorable smile and lean frame. “Dunno how I got the eye colour though, as my Dad’s side is basically all brown and that’s the dominant colour and all…” He trailed off.

“Anyway. Chez and Dad hit right off, I think they were even considering marriage. But when the time came for her to leave them decided that it was impossible for her to extend her time there any more, caused she’d already stayed on for an extra 3 months. But she couldn’t stay, and I needed a stable life, so they decided to leave it until I was older. 3 months later we found out that she was pregnant.”

“You’re not serious?!?!” Oliver said gaping at him. The others were also wearing expressions of shock, all except for Ginny who was still very pale and looked nervous.

“Yup. They had a bit of a fight. Dad said she should have told him and she couldn’t stop crying long enough to defend herself. But 6 months later we were there for the birth of my new baby sister. But Dad still said we couldn’t stay their so we went back to America and every year Tilly, my sister and chez would come over for around for about three months. Cause Chez is a writer so she could do that anywhere and she didn’t have to fly cause the overseas apparition depot is way cheaper.”

“Dad and Chez have finally decided on a date for the marriage. Tilly, Biancca, Joshy and I have been living together here for four years now. But we go to Salem because the amount of paperwork you have to fill out for the ministry to transfer is freaky. Biancca and Josh are my twin siblings; they’re 5 years younger than me. So that makes me ALMOST related to Cho but If you tell anyone I’ll murder you with a blunt knife.” Nahm smiled. “Kidding, kidding. But yeh we don’t get along, Cho and me. Surprised she invited me really,” He continued. “Oh well. I better take your car. Catcha later.” He waved and walked over to Oliver combi. “By the way, cool car.”  Oliver just laughed as they moved off towards the entrance.

                                              * * * * * * * * * *

“Wow, Potter manor is huge isn’t it?” Ginny commented in an offhand tone, trying once again to convince her friends that she was fine. They had been staring at her worriedly and whispering to each other ever since they took off their coats in the main entrance hall.

‘Oh crap,’ Ginny thought as they moved to the doorway leading into the parlor (the size of the great hall), where the guest were congregating before the dance started. ‘Potter and Cho so soon!?! How is this fair?’ She sobbed silently. Ginny could see them standing in the entranceway greeting their guests, the proper host and hostess.

“Hay,” She felt a warm touch on her shoulder and turned to find Oliver’s face barely four centimeters from her own. “I’m right here. Just remember I’ll do whatever you want to. Okay?” He smiled comfortingly at her then put his arm around Ginny’s shoulders.

Ginny was comforted and pleased by this show of affection. “I’ll do it.” She said, not as confidently as she would have liked. “Maybe I can just run. You know, like you do to get to platform 9 ¾.” She continued in a feeble attempt at a joke.

“Hmmmm.”  Hermione said giving Ginny a look that reminded her of Madame Pince and Professor McGonagall at the same time.

“Come on. Let’s go.” Luna ordered calmly and then drifted over to the hosts arm in arm with Ginny, leaving her no escape.

“Luna, Oliver, Hermione!” Harry greeted them each with a tight hug. But before he even opened his mouth to greet Ginny, Cho got there.

“So nice of you to join us Ginny. We were quite surprised you decided on coming. Considering the ‘condition’ you’ve been in lately.” She lowered her voice conspiratorially an ugly smile playing across her face.

“Really?” Ginny asked in a lofty voice. “And what condition would that be?” She raised her eyebrow and looked at Harry, as if to ask him if he knew.

“Uhhh…” Harry started looking uncertainly at Cho. “Well uh… I heard you had a uhhmm… cold.” He finished rather lamely.

“Well that’s news to me. I have been perfectly well, but I would thank you if you let me through. You see standing in this cold room with no coat on IS quite likely to give me a cold.” Ginny let out a little laugh and walked straight passed them, leaving Cho fuming and Harry following her with his eyes, looking rather dazed.

                                              * * * * * * * * * *
