Learn about Harry and Ginny's daughter and her life

Chapter 1: Lily Molly Potter
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Gotta hold on easy as I let you go.
Gonna tell you how much I love you, though you think you already know.
I remember I thought you looked like an angel wrapped in pink so soft and warm.
You've had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born.

“Gin, she’s beautiful.” Harry said, looking down at his hour old daughter.

“What about me?” Ginny joked.

“You always are,” He replied smiling down at her.

“What should we name her?” Ginny asked as she closed her eyes, resting.

“I don’t know,” Harry lied. “What do you think?”

Ginny chuckled, “You’re a bad liar.”

Harry laughed as he remembered the people their daughter would be named after.

“Lily Molly Potter,” Harry sighed and smiled at his family.

Beautiful baby from the outside in.
Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again.
Go on, take on this whole world.
But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl.

“Lily, are you sure you have everything?” Harry asked as he picked up his daughter’s trunk in preparation for leaving to go to her first year at Hogwarts.

“Yes, Dad, lets go already!” Lily said, rolling her eyes. She stood by the door ready to go to the famous place that her parents always talk about. She checked her new watch, given to her as a going away present for her parents, and saw she was already 5 minutes late to meet her friends, Jane Weasley and Michelle Longbottom. She sighed loudly.

“We’re coming Miss Priss,” Ginny said walking into the room with Lily’s brother, James.

“Finally!” exclaimed Lily as she dashed out of her house and into the car with her family following slowly.

After the quick 5 minute ride, they all piled out of the car and onto Platform 9 3/4.

Lily quickly spied her friends and ran to hug them all. As the warning whistle blew she hurried over to her parents for last minute talks, good-byes and hugs.

“Good-bye, sweetie, be good!” sniffled her mom as she hurried onto the train, missing the silent tear rolling down her fathers face.

When you were in trouble that crooked little smile could melt my heart of stone.
Now look at you, I've turned around and you've almost grown.
Sometimes you're asleep I whisper "I Love You!" in the moonlight at your door.
As I walk away, I hear you say, "Daddy Love You More!"

Standing on the platform, memories of the times at home flashed before his eyes. He laughed as he remembered when she poured the newly purchased gallon of milk all over the kitchen floor and she looked up at him with big eyes. And the night that James was born. She was feeling left out so I sat and talked with her before she fell asleep, and that night she understood her job as a big sister.

They walked toward the car in silence, broken by the babble talk from James.

“She’ll be fine. She’s your daughter.” Ginny said reassuringly.

Harry chuckled, “Thats what I'm worried about.”

Beautiful baby from the outside in.

But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl.

“Please allow me to introduce the Head Girl and Head Boy to say some closing words.” Headmaster Lupin said at the 7th Years Graduation Ceremony. Lily and the Head Boy, Michael Brown stood and walked to the podium.

Harry clapped and whistled then settled into silence as his daughter started her speech. He was proud of everything she had accomplished over her 7 years at Hogwarts, Prefect, Head Girl, top of year(under Hermione's daughter of course), and so much more. Ginny squeezed his hand, bringing him out of his memories as she finished the speech and all of the graduating students threw their hats into the air and then catching them and running to find their families.

“Daddy!” Lily cried as she ran up to them.

“Hey Lily! I’m so proud of you,” He said as he gave her a bone crushing hug. She beamed up at him before hugging her mother and younger brothers, James and Sirius.

Someday, some boy will come and ask me for your hand.
But I won't say "yes" to him unless I know, he's the half
that makes you whole, he has a poet's soul, and the heart of a man's man.
I know he'll say that he's in love.
But between you and me. He won't be good enough!

Harry sat at his desk in the Ministry gazing at a picture of his 3 kids. Then a gentle knock was at the door.

“Come in,” Harry said straightening up and looking at the person walking into is office.

“Hello, Mr. Potter,” said a tall young man.

“Hello Mr. Anderson,” Harry said, suspecting why the 23 year old boyfriend of his now 20 year old daughter was sitting in his office, “What can I do for you?”

“Well, you see, sir…” Jacob started nervously. “I was wondering…”

“Go on, “Harry said smiling, enjoying the effect he had on the young man.

“Well, I-I’m wondering if you would let me marry your daughter?” He said rushing.

Harry looked at him for a moment as Jacob looked anywhere but at Harry. His face broke out in a smile.

“Have you picked out the ring?”

Jacob’s head shot up and he looked at Harry with wide eyes. “Y-Yes, sir.”

“Then go get it.” Harry said as both of them stood and shook the others hand. Jacob’s face lit up as he walked out of the room. Harry sat down sighing and picked up a picture of Lily, smiling into the camera.

But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl.

As Lily did the finishing touches to her make-up and her mom was fixing her veil, she heard the people start to arrive. She stomach dropped, “I’m getting married today!” she though excitedly.

“Done!” Ginny exclaimed, bringing Lily out of her thoughts. She gazed into the mirror and gasped. Her picture perfect fit her perfectly, her hair in a loose bun with curls around her face and her lightly done make-up made her look so much like her mom. “Except for the eyes,” she thought. “Those are dads.”

She gathered her bouquet and headed down the stairs to where she would wait for the music to begin. He father arrived shortly after and she saw tears in his eyes.

“Daddy, don’t cry.” She started. “It’ll make me cry!”

He walked over to his daughter and hugged her.

“I love you, Lily. You’ll always be my little girl” he whispered into her hair.

“Love you too Dad.” As they let go of each other, the music stared to play and Lily took a deep breath. She took her fathers arm and started do the aisle.
