Chapter 1: Because she's Granger
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Hermione was now more confused then ever, she always went by facts she read in books, barely ever on her opinion. Normally Harry’s weird conclusions never ended up being right, but during their sixth year at Hogwarts, everything, well, mostly everything Harry assumed was right. Professor Snape is still a Death Eater and Draco Malfoy was instructed by Lord Voldemort, to kill Dumbledore.

Hermione got home from the train station. She didn’t have anything to say. Hermione finally took in the fact that the world, not just the wizarding world, but the whole world is in serious danger, now that Dumbledore is gone. Then, along with all of this, a months goes by, and she's at her parents, every day having letters back and forth with Harry and Ron. Harry birthday then passes and now the whole golden trio is 17 years old. Harry left the Dursley's the moment he could, having nothing of a hard time leaving, since the Dursleys were more then happy to see him leave. Hermione promised Harry, along with Ron, to come with him to find the missing horcruzes, but now, she just didn’t want to leave her family.

Hermione cares for Harry and Ron more then most, but she just had a felling that she had to stay with her mother and father just for a little longer.

"I know Bill and Fleur’s wedding is in three days, Ron," said Hermione to Ron and Harry, with a sorry look in her eye. Ron and Harry came to Hermione’s house once she didn’t show up two days earlier, like they planed. "I just want to stay at home just for another day or two, I promise I’ll be there, don’t worry."

"But Hermione," said Harry looking concerned, "We have to go, you’re not safe alone."

"Neither are my mum or dad, and plus I just have a feeling I need to stay," said Hermione, "Please, two more days, I promise."

"I don’t know Hermione," said Ron, who, when Hermione looked at him, seemed like he was leaving a helpless baby all by itself in dangerous streets.

"Ronald," said Hermione seriously, "Two days."

Harry and Ron exchanged looks, and then Ron said, regreting it, "Two days, max."

"Thank you so much," said Hermione flinging her arms around Ron and hugging him. Ron started to blush.

"Just be careful." said Ron, and then Harry and Ron mounted their brooms and went off.

Hundreds of miles away, in Wiltshire, England, was Draco Malfoy, in his room, in the Malfoy Manor. He was trying to grab everything in his room that he needed into his one suitcase, for that was all he can carry at the moment, for his right hand was for his wand to be at the ready at every moment.

Suddenly Malfoy heard a door being busted open with a loud BANG, somewhere in his house, Draco became terrified.

"Damn, they’re here," Malfoy went to his window and saw hooded figures coming in thought the front door.

"DRACO!" screamed a raspy male voice from down stairs, "WE KNOW YOU’RE HERE SOMEWHERE!"

Malfoy’s face suddenly went more white then normal, as if he was about to die. He then went and grabbed his broom from the floor and waited to make sure there was no one left outside. Once he was sure he couldn’t see anyone else, he opened his window, very slowly, to make sure no one could hear him, grabbed a hold of his suitcase in one hand and wand and broom in the other, and he slowly glided out of his window, and slowly closed it behind him. He tried his best to stay out of sight and once he thought he was far enough he zoomed off as fast he could.

The next morning, at Hermione’s house, Hermione woke up to an empty house. She entered the kitchen and there was a note on the refrigerator,

Your mother and I had to go to work early. There is a Mr. Miller who insisted on a check-up. One of his molars was hurting him. Sorry we don’t get to be with you as long as we thought before you have to leave.
P.S. Your mother left a grocery list, if you don’t mind picking up a few things.

"Just my plan," said Hermione sarcastically, throwing away her father’s note and grabbing the grocery list that was next to it, "Help protect my family while they’re at work and I’m stuck her." Hermione then went to grab some money from her room and then set off to the store.

Draco was tired, he flew nonstop all night. He didn't have a single clue to where he was going, just knowing he wanted to be as far away from those who were after him as possible.

He was starving, he hasn’t eaten in three days, not since they started going after him. He was now resting near some tall firm trees in some town park he saw, in a muggle town, knowing for sure they wouldn’t find him there.

Draco only rested for about two hours until something woke him up. He felt a weird sensation on his saide, like someone cased a spell on him. And then he couldn’t move, horror just struck him, he was caught.

"Draco Malfoy," said a female voice, he couldn’t see her though, but she sound vaguely familiar.

Next thing he knew, he was unfrozen, but then secured by what seemed like invisible ropes.

"What in bloody hell are you doing here, and so close to my house none the less!"

Draco rolled around to see the girl, and there she was, Hermione Granger, dressed in casual muggle clothing, holding a grocery bag in one hand and her wand pointing at him in the other.

"Answer me!" screamed Hermione.

"Granger? Out of everyone, you captured me?" said Malfoy with a smile.

"Don’t smile at me, answer me! Why are you here?" screamed Hermione, looking even angrier then she already was.

"I’ll tell you if you give me some of your food you have there, I haven’t eaten in days," said Draco, still smiling.

"How about you tell me first, and then I’ll give you something to eat," said Hermione, "maybe."

"Well, mudblood, since I’m starving, I’ll tell you," said Malfoy, " The Dark Lord and the Death Eaters are after me, and they won’t stop until they know I’m dead. I’ve been flying all night long and I just stopped here to rest, not please mudblood, I’m hungry."

"One, if you want me to give you some food, try not calling me a mudblood right before. Two, Voldemort and the Death Eaters?"

"Yes Granger, now food please," said Malfoy staring at the grocery bag.

Hermione hesitated for a moment, she looked at Malfoy, who she thought didn't look like the normal him. He had bags under his eyes, as if he hadn't slept for days, and he looked paler then normal, and his face looked thin, as if he hadn't eaten for days either, just like he said. Hermione then set down the grocery bag and took out an apple and threw it at Malfoy. Malfoy tried to get the apple but his arms were still secure be the invisible ropes.

"Why are they after you? I thought you were on their side," said Hermione sitting down, staring at Malfoy struggling to get the apple.

"I didn’t do what I was assigned to do. Now, Granger can’t you just take the spell off so I can eat the apple please."

Hermione then pointed at the apple and levitated it into Malfoy’s mouth so he could take a bite out of it. Hermione sat there, keeping the apple levitated, so Malfoy could finish eating it. Once he finished the apple, and after a flick of Hermione's wand, it vanished.

"Better?" said Hermione.

"Much," said Malfoy, "Now, Granger, what are you going to do with me now? Report me? Put me somewhere so the Death Eaters can find me and kill me? Or bring me to Potty and Weasel, so they can figure out what to do with me?"

Hermione then got up, walked to Malfoy’s suitcase and picked it up.

"Don’t touch my stuff Granger, I’m warning you," said Malfoy, with an evil glare.

"Oh, and what are you going to do about it?" said Hermione, walking to Malfoy and then starting to go through his cloak pocket, where she took out his wand.

But then the next thing Malfoy knew, he was lifted up to his feet and his legs weren’t secure anymore.

"Don’t you even think about moving," said Hermione, with a serious face, "I have all your stuff, plus your wand, and I’m bringing you to my house."

"I’m not setting a foot in your muggle house Granger," said Malfoy.

"You have no choice, Malfoy," said Hermione, "You stay here and you’ll be captured. And plus, you’re not even staying at my house long, I just need to get my things and leave a note for my parents and then apparate us to the Burrow."

"The Weasley’s dump, no way in hell," said Malfoy.

"That’s where everyone is, Ron’s brother Bill and Fleur Delacour are getting married in two days, and everyone’s helping getting ready. Professor McGonagall will figure out what to do with you, since she is head mistress and all."

"HA! A Weasley is getting married to that French girl from the Triwizard Tournament!" said Malfoy.

"Yeah," said Hermione, "Bill, the one who you thought died that night you ran off with Snape."

"He’s not dead?" said Malfoy, "But I thought Greyback –."

"Killed him? No, he just bit him," said Hermione, "Left some permanent scars though, but he won’t be a werewolf either. Now, come on, and don’t even bother screaming for someone to help you to get away from me, I’m going to put a silencing charm on you."

And she did. Hermione had Malfoy walk in front of her with his arms still secure and her wand at his back, hidden behind the grocery bag she was now holding again. Hermione let one of Malfoy’s hands free so he can hold his suitcase and she hold his broom in her free hand.

"My house is that one right there, go to it," said Hermione, and as Malfoy did, he mouthed the word ‘Wow.’

Once they set foot in the house, Hermione set the grocery bag down. She then pointed her wand at Malfoy and lifted the silencing charm.

"—being all alone, my life is---," Malfoy suddenly stopped, and turned around and faced Hermione, "You lifted the charm didn’t you?"

"You sure mastered those nonverbal spells," said Malfoy, "You haven’t said one spell yet."

"Yes, I master mostly everything I try," said Hermione, "Now if you don’t mind."

Hermione then pointed her wand towards the stairs and her trunk came gliding down the stairs, then she pointed her wand towards the grocery bag and glided it to the kitchen, and a piece of paper and a pencil came flying back. She grabbed the paper and pencil and started scribbling down a note to her parents.

And as Hermione wrote the note Malfoy was staring at her.

‘Is she helping me? Is she doing this because she doesn’t want me to be killed? Does she care?’ thought Malfoy, ‘Or is she just doing this because she’s Granger?'

Chapter 2: Just like Dumbledore
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Just like Dumbledore

"Are you ready?" said Hermione when she finished writing the letter to her parents.

"I can’t move Granger," said Malfoy, "It’s not like I’m doing anything so I’m not ready to do anything."

"But can you apparate?" said Hermione.

"I never got my license after my birthday, I've kinda been, busy," said Malfoy, "But yeah, I can."

"Then why didn’t you apparate instead of flying to get away from the Death Eaters, license or not?" said Hermione.

"Apparation can be traced Granger with non-license apparaters," said Malfoy, "Even you should know that."

"Never mind then," said Hermione, "Grab hold to my arm, we’re going to the Burrow."

And with out arguing, Malfoy took hold of Hermione’s arm tightly and with a pulling feeling, within seconds, they were in front of the Burrow, where Mrs. Weasley was standing seconds before.

"OY! Hermione I thought Ron and Harry said you won’t be coming until tomorrow?"

"Hello Mrs. Weasley," said Hermione, "Oh, and something came up. I captured—"

Harry and Ron came running outside with their wands rose pointing at Malfoy and suddenly a red light came shooting from Harry’s wand and Malfoy was thrown backward several feet.

"HARRY! RON! STOP!" screamed Hermione, "He’s charmed so he can’t move, he can’t do anything!"

"You murderer, how dare you come there, how dare you come and show your face to anyone one of us! You don’t deserve to live!" said Ron standing near Malfoy, who was staring back at him, and but not speaking.

"I should kill you right now!" said Harry.

"Harry, my dear don’t please," said Mrs. Weasley," Just wait a minute."

"What’s all this ruckus out here?"

Mr. Weasley came walking out from the kitchen with the rest of the Weasley clan, Fleur Delacour and her sister, Gabrielle, Remus Lupin, Tonks, Alastor Moody and Professor McGonagall right behind him.

"Vat’s going on? I ‘eard screems," said Fleur.

"Professor McGonagall?" said Hermione.

"Yes Miss. Granger? What’s— my dear, is that Draco Malfoy?" said the Professor, stopping deadin her tracks

"Yes ma’am, that’s what I came here to tell you,’ said Hermione, "I found him in my town’s park, sleeping in the trees and I captured him, he said he was running from Voldemort and the Death Eaters."

"Did he now?"

Professor McGonagall walked up to Malfoy secured him from the charm Hermione placed on him and said, "Follow me Mr. Malfoy, and please, don’t try to run off, there are several Aurors and Ministry members here who’ll stop you."

Malfoy got up, still not speaking and walked over to Professor McGonagall and followed her into the Burrow’s kitchen, while everyone else followed.

"Please sit Mr. Malfoy," said Professor McGonagall, gesturing towards the kitchen table, and as Malfoy did so, McGonagall said, "Now tell me Draco, Why are you running from You-Know-Who and the Death Eater?"

"Wouldn’t you?" said Malfoy, "I mean, come on, it’s the Dark Lord, he’ll kill everyone if he could, why else would I be running from him?"

"He’s trying to kill you?" said Mr. Wealsey.

"Like I said, he’s trying to kill everyone!"

"But why you?!" screamed Ron, "Since what happened at school, shouldn’t he be thanking you?"

"No, he wouldn’t" said Harry. Everyone turned to look at Harry.

"Excuse me Potter," said Malfoy, "but how would you know?"

"Well," said Harry, "Everyone here knows this, but I was there, in the Astronomy tower."

"Under that lovely cloak of yours again were you?" said Malfoy, "I knew I heard Dumbledore talking to someone before I got there."

"Yeah, well, when Professor Dumbledore told you he can help you, you said nobody could, and that Voldemort told you to kill him or he’ll kill you," said Harry, "And you didn’t, Snape did."

"Exactly Potter," said Malfoy, "He ordered me to kill Dumbledore or he’ll kill me and my family. Dumbledore was murdered but not by me, I failed, but believe me, he was happy Dumbledore was gone, but he was angry we didn’t listen to him."

"We?" said Professor McGonagall, "Who is we, Draco."

"Well my mum, Snape, and me." Said Malfoy, "The Dark Lord ordered everyone to not help me, but my mum was afraid and got involved, and got Snape to get involved, with an Unbreakable Vow. The Dark Lord was thankful to Snape for killing Dumbledore, but he was upset for him not listening to him, so after he thanked him, he killed him."

Everyone gasped at Malfoy’s last words, and Professor McGonagall said, "You-Know-Who killed Severus Snape? When?"

"About two weeks ago," said Malfoy calmly, like nothing was wrong about Snape being dead, "Right after my parents."

"He’s killed your mother and father?" said Professor McGonagall, "Two weeks ago?"

"Yeah, when it comes to him swearing he’ll kill someone if you don’t obey him, he’s a man of his word," said Malfoy.

"But they would of reported Lucius’ death if he died in jail," said Mr. Weasley, "And I haven’t heard anything."

"Oh, you wouldn’t," said Malfoy, "The Dark Lord disguised a dying person and put him in my dad’s place, the guy posing as my dad will die any day now. He got the idea from that Crouch guy."

"Yes, of course, Crouch Jr. is a Death Eater, he would get the idea from him," said Professor McGonagall.

"I just barely got away; it was dark out, so it was easier. The only thing I’ve thought about since my parents died was what Dumbledore said, to help me, keep me safe, so I planed to find someone after I got far enough away from the Death Eaters. Luckily Granger found me, so I wouldn’t have to, being in that park near her house wasn’t planned or anything, I was tired, I needed to rest, I barely slept for days." said Mafloy.

"Why should we believe what you say is true?" said the Professor

"I’m telling the truth," said Malfoy, suddenly smiling, "Do what ever you want, give me Veritaserum, I’ll say the same thing I just told you, I just need you guys to help me from being killed."

"Well Draco, I need to report this, and think of what to do with you next," said Professor McGonagall, getting up, "Arthur, Molly, can you watch over him while I’m gone? Secure him in a room? Harry, Ron, Hermione, you know him the longest, see if you can get anymore information."

"Yes Minerva," said Mrs. Weasley, with a smile, "We’ll love to help."

"Wonderful, well, I’ll be back soon."

Professor McGonagall walked outside and Disapparated as soon she walked out the door.

"Get up Malfoy," said Fred, and as Malfoy did so, without saying a word, but had a glare of his face, George went behind him and pushed him to walk faster, "You’re staying in our room."

Fred and George walked Malfoy all the way to their room while everyone else followed. Malfoy looked around the hallways, and he noticed that the Burrow eas exactly what he expected, a wobbly, old, country, ratted down home. 'How can they live in here? It's horrible,' thought Malfoy. But once Malfoy got to the twins room, he walked straight to one of the beds without anyone forcing him and sat down.

"So," said Malfoy, "What are you all going to do with me?"

"We are going to lock you in here, while we take turn keeping watch," said Mrs. Weasley, "and I’m going to cook you up something in the kitchen, you look starved."

"Harry, Ron and Hermione?" said Mr. Weasley, "If you three don’t mind, you can keep an eye on him first?"

"Absolutely Mr. Weasley,"

"Sure dad,"

Then the three of them walked into the room and the door shut behind them. Harry, Ron and Hermions all just stared at Malfoy, who was just staring back at them, all not saying a word. About ten minutes went by until Hermione then walked over to the opposite bed Malfoy was sitting in and sat down, while Harry and Ron still stood near the door.

"So, Malfoy," said Hermione, "What you told me in the park, it’s all true then?"

"Every last bit," said Malfoy, smiling at her.

"Why should we help you anyway?" said Hermione, crossing her arms, "Since you’ve been horrible every single moment from the time you laid eyes on us."

"It was what Dumbledore wanted to do, he believed I’m not a killer," said Malfoy, "And I’m not, I’ve never killed anyone, I tried to deny not having the guts to kill him, but I couldn’t, I didn’t have it in me."

"So you’re trying to say you’re actually a good guy?" said Ron, laughing.

"No weasel, I’m just saying I’m not a killer, I’m barely seventeen, unlike my father did, I don’t want a burden of murder in my thoughts for the rest of my life, and becoming my life at that," said Malfoy, "You don’t have to be helping me, I don’t need help from you weasel, I wanted the help from actual advanced wizards."

Ron just pouted and Harry, not paying attention to Ron, said, "Something has been on my mind from a while since that night, right before the Death Eaters came barging in, you lowered your wand a bit, like you really didn’t want to kill him."

"Geez Potter," said Malfoy, "Doesn't matter if I did or not, we're all as good as dead anyway."

Suddenly the door opened, and Mrs. Weasley came walking in carrying a tray of food.

"Now, you eat this Draco, you’re skinny as a stick,’ said Mrs. Weasley, "And Ron, Bill and Fleur are asking for you down stairs, they want you to go over the wedding march again, you too Harry, and Hermione dear, if you don’t mind staying here, you already proved yourself to watch over Mr. Malfoy alone, since you captured him in the first place."

"I’m not leaving Hermione alone with him, mum," said Ron.

"Now, Ronald, Fleur is asking for you, and please don’t make me go down there without you two, I don’t want to hear her complaining anymore," said Mrs. Weasley, "And Hermione can take care of herself, now, come on you two."

Harry and Ron followed Mrs. Weasley out of the room, so now Hermione was left in the room alone with Malfoy, who stared to smile at her again.

"What are you smiling at?" said Hermione.

"You," said Malfoy, "I mean, you could have left me in the park for the Death Eaters to find me, and kill me, but you didn’t."

"I never believed you where ever that dangerous to anyone, arrogant yeah, and selfish, and cold-hearted, but not dangerous," said Hermione.

"That’s nice of you, I think," said Malfoy, and then with a smile, he said, "But what about the past six years? Didn’t I prove at all that I was dangerous to you alone, doing unthinkably mean things to you?"

"Like what? Calling me Mudblood all those times? Oh, I was shivering in my bones," said Hermione smiling back at him, "And all those times you ran off running, I found those quite amusing, like the time Ron, Hagrid, and I found you running and screaming from someone drinking blood from a unicorn. And the time in our third year where you were being attacked by an invisible person and you ran off then to. Oh, and don’t forget when Moody turned you into a ferret, you were terrified, you ran off like a baby. And then my absolute favorite, when I had my wand to your face, you looked pathetic, and then I hit you, good times, good times."

"So you never found me threatening?" said Malfoy.

"Not the least bit," said Hermione, "To tell you the truth, I’ve always knew you had bad in you, because it’s in your blood, but one day you’d find out you don’t need all that power your family has, and you’ll realize you can be a good person."

"Just like Dumbledore," said Malfoy, "You always look for the good in people, even when they were once horrible to you. And you sure have a way with words; they can really make a person feel better."

Chapter 3: Except you
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

“Malfoy, can I ask you something?” said Hermione.

“What’s going to happen to the Malfoy name, I mean since your parents are dead and you’re on the run?” said Hermione.

“Why do you seem so interested?” said Mafloy, with a big grin on his face.

“I was just wondering,” said Hermione.

“You and that big brain of yours, you never want to stop knowing more,” said Malfoy, “Well personally I have no clue what going to happen with my family name, and really, I couldn’t care less.”

“Why?” said Hermoine.

“Why? Have you not heard any word I’ve said today? The Death Eaters are out to kill me! At the moment I couldn’t care less on how my family’s name is going to live on, it’s not the name I want to live on, it’s me!”

“It’s just family name and reputation is normally everything for the Malfoy family,” said Hermione, “As far as I know at least.”

“Then you don’t know that much about my family then you thought,” said Malfoy, “Mostly, family name and reputation meant everything to my dad, my mum actually didn’t care and I only acted like I cared because I was raised to.”

“Your dad raised you to pretend to care about your family?” said Hermione in a laugh.

“No,” said Mafloy, laughing back, “I was raised to care, and for a while I did. But for practically the last five-six years I stopped. I acted like I cared, only for my father to believe I really did.”

“Then what do you care about?” said Hermione, “Other then you might be getting killed by Death Eaters.”

“At the moment,” said Malfoy, thinking, “Nothing”

“That’s really selfish,” said Hermione, “But that’s how you are, I didn’t expect better.”

Right then, the door opened and Tonks came waling in, with navy blue hair instead of bubble gum pink, like she normally has it.

“Now, now, now. Look who we have here, little baby cousin Draco,” said Tonks.

“Nymph?” said Draco, “What the hell are you doing here?”

“Do not call me Nymph, it’s Tonks,” said Tonks, walking up to Malfoy and sticking her finger in his face, “And I should be asking you that question, I just arrived and I was informed you were here. And with my opinion, I think you shouldn’t even be here or anywhere around here. Personally I think Hermoin should of kept you in that park and let you be found by someone else, anyone else.”

“Tonks?!” said Hermione, “He’s your cousin.”

“So?” said Tonks, “I hated my aunt Narcissa and her family, so did my mum. We also hated my aunt Belatrix and her family. The Malfoys and Lestranges were mostly why I wanted to become an Auror.”

“I love you, too Nymph,” said Malfoy.

And without saying anything else, Tonks walked back out of the room.

“That was strange,” said Hermione.

“Was it?” said Malfoy, “That’s exactly what I expected from her.”

“Well, I thought that was really uncalled for,” said Hermoine.

“Well, that’s really nice of you,” said Malfoy, "But that’s my family for you.”

“But Tonks is normally such a nice person,” said Hermione, “I wouldn’t ever think she would say something like that, especially to family.”

“It’s just my effect on people,” said Mafloy, frowning, “The longer you know me the more you hate me, and Nymph has known me my whole life.”

“Well, I’m not sure about that,” said Hermione, “Almost a lot of the things I thought I knew about you have changed in less then an hour. The hatred I normally have on you is now a bit different.”

“Hatred?” said Malfoy, “I don’t like that word, I don’t know why, I just don’t. It’s just I here it all the time, since so many people hate me.”

“For some reason you’re making me feel so much sorry for you.” Said Hermione.

“Really?” said Malfoy, raising an eyebrow in surprise, “That’s a first, and not just for you for saying that, but for anyone.”

What about Crabbe and Goyle?” said Hermione.

“What about them?” said Mafloy.

“Do they know about this? Don’t they feel sorry about you?”

“You kidding?” said Malfoy, “They are the clueless two you can ever meet, they would most likely forget I told them what’s happening to me after ten seconds of telling them.”

“So they don’t know?”

“They probably think I’m dead somewhere after that day last month,” said Malfoy.

“So you have no one?” said Hermione.

“Not one,” said Mafloy, “Except you.”

Chapter 4: He was falling long and hard.
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

"Except me? Why me?" said Hermione.

"Well, I mean come on, do you actually think anyone else in this house will talk to me like you are?" said Malfoy. "Everyone else thinks I'm a little traitor, Death Eaters AND Aurors."

"Well, McGonagall....."

"McGonagall will probably only talk to me, not because she wants to, but to get information out from me or something, or just because it's the right thing to do. Or is that the reason you're talking to me?" said Malfoy raising an eyebrow.

"I don't know, maybe, I'm not sure. Right now I just want to talk to you, no reason really." said Hermione, with a serious look on her face.

"Do you now?" said Malfoy.

Then the door opened one more time and Remus Lupin came in, and said, "Hermione, no need to watch over Malfoy right now, you can come out now."

"See you Granger," said Malfoy, winking at her.

And Hermione followed Professor McGonagall out of the room, smiling.

For the next two days Hermione would bring Malfoy food and talk to him for a short time, but not about anything special, mostly to enjoy each others company. Harry and Ron started to question themselves on Hermione's kindness to Malfoy, but they just thought it was just her natural kindness she gives to everyone. But then Ginny for some reason thought to herself something way different, she had a very funny feeling that something was up, because everytime Hermione would came back for Malfoy's room she would have the biggest smile on her face.

Hermione was thinking all night, until she went to bed, and it was scaring her, because it was all about Malfoy, DRACO MALFOY. Hermione thought to herself, 'Okay, I understand that I saved him a couple of days ago and all, but it wasn't that bad, why can't I get him out of my mind? Then again, why was he talking to me that why, as if we were friends? We're not friends, we never were friends and never will be friends, I don't think, wait, what am I saying, of course I think that. But wait, hold on, why was I being so nice to him, wow, I actually felt sorry for Draco Malfoy. STOP IT HERMIONE, STOP IT! GET HIM OUT OF YOUR HEAD!'

Then again Malfoy, he couldn't sleep, not a wink, and not just because there were murderers out to get him. 'She saved me, HERMIONE GRANGER SAVED ME, why is bloody hell would she do that. I mean, the girl I called Mudblood for all these years, the girl I made fun of constantly for no apparent reason saved me, when she didn't have to, even want to for that matter. Hold on Draco, STOP IT! She's just a girl who was just being nice, that's all. But she was acting very friendly to me, and being friendly to me, even if I'm in this condition, it's quite unbelieveable. But I sure enjoyed that smile of hers.'

Hermione then walked into Malfoy's room, with a tray of food.

"Morning," said Hermione, "Mrs. Weasley made you some breakfast."

She set the tray on the foot of Malfoy's bed, "I brought it in, since Harry and Ron dont want to do it, and everyone else is getting ready for the wedding today."

"Oh, thanks," said Malfoy, who got up to grab a piece of toast.

"We'll be able to see the wedding from the window," said Hermione, "It's a beautiful view."

"Whatever," said Malfoy with a yawn.

"Sleepy?" said Hermione, sitting down on a chair next to the bed.

" Didn't sleep," said Malfoy.

"What? But you were quite sleepy yesterday, I would of thought you would of fell asleep right away last night."

"Well I didn't, I had too much stuff on my mind," said Malfoy, "So, about the wedding, what are you going to be in it?"

"Just one of the bride's maids," said Hermione, getting up to look out the window.

"Don't you have to get ready?" said Malfoy, "Because, doesn't it start soon, I heard that French girl screaming last night over and over again, 'I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M GETTING MARRIED ZO EARLY EN ZE MORNING, WHAT WAS I THEENKING!'

"Ha, yeah, I just wanted to bring you your food, that's all," said Hermione, "I'll come back and give you food from the resception later, Bye." And she left.

Malfoy sighed, and started to eat his scrambled eggs. Yet again, all he could think of was how nice Hermione was to him, 'I can't believe it, not one bit, no one that I can think of is being as nice to me as her. Then again, no one else is talking to me but her, she is unbelieveable. I can't believe I was mean to her, I mean, why would someone hate someone that beautiful and... wait, what am I saying, Granger? Beautiful? All she did was capture me and bring me here, why would I think she's beautiful after she did that? This is a punishment being stuck here, then again, it would be worse if she left me there in that stupid little park. If I think about it, I owe her my life, for now at least. She sure is just like Dumbledore, because for some stupid reason she sees good in me, and I don't get it, because not even I do.'

Three hours later the wedding began, Malfoy watch ever bit of it from his window. Hermione was right, the view was beautiful. But when Hermione walk down that white carpet, she was all Malfoy looked at. She was beautiful, with her hair done and in her silk bride's maid dress and......HOLD ON!!! 'STOP IT DRACO' thought Malfoy, 'STOP IT!! TELL YOURSELF SHE'S NOT BEAUTIFUL, TELL YOURSELF HER HAIR LOOKS HORRIBLE, SAY IT!!! YOU CAN"T BE FALLING FOR HERMIONE GRANGER OUT OF ALL PEOPLE!!! ONE NICE DEED SHOULDN'T MAKE ME FEEL THIS WAY. IT WAS JUST GRANGER BEING GRANGER!!! SLAP YOURSELF OUT OF IT DRACO!!! STOP IT NOW!'

But he couldn't, Malfoy was falling for Hermione Granger, He was falling long and hard.

Chapter 5: If he turns on us, it's not my fault...
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Once the wedding ended, the party begun. The house was filled with noise, along with outside. Malfoy just sat there, in the room, thinking, again.

'What am I going to do? How am I going to live my life? Running away from being killed every single day? I'm I going to have to rely on Granger, Potter and the Weasles for everything or something, I mean they're the only students who know about me, I think. Just face it Draco, nobody cares about you. Helping me out right now, they're just trying to do good, but they're not succeeding, not even close. The only way for anyone to help me is....'

Suddenly, the door opened and Hermione came into the room, with a plate full of food.

"Here you go Malfoy," said Hermione, sitting down.

"Thanks," said Malfoy, grinning.

Then there was a short little pause. Hermione then came from a smile to a frown.

"What's wrong now?" said Malfoy.

"It's just Harry and Ron still want to go off and not come back to school, " said Hermione, " I told them I would go with them, but I don't really want to anymore, it'll be dangerous."

"So?" said Hermone, "They could get killed."

"From doing what?" said Malfoy, not really looking interested.

"Trying to kill Voldemort!" said Hermione, "What else is there?"

"They will most likely be killed trying," said Malfoy, shoving food into his mouth, " I mean come on, that bloody Potter and that idiot Weasle could never kill The Dark Lord. He would kill them in one second flat. So yeah, you're right, it'll be dangerous, but you should go with them, it'll be fun."

"What's wrong with you?" said Hermione, standing up, looking a little upset.

"What do you mean? I always act like this Granger." said Malfoy, still eating.

"Your talking like you hope Voldemort will kill Harry and Ron and me," said Hermione.

"For the past couple of days you where so nice, what happened?" said Hermione.

"Nothing happened Granger, It's the way I am. I still think Potter is a fucking dumbass, and Weasle is a poor dumbass sidekick. And you're still a know-it-all Mudblood."

"Fuck you Malfoy," said Hermione, leaving Malfoy all alone.

'Why did I do that?' thought Mafloy, 'That is not the way to stop liking Granger'

Hermione walked to Ginny's room, to be alone and sat in the bed she was sleeping in and took out the closest book she could find and tried to read it, but she couldn't.

'What's wrong with me, why didn't I expect this from him, it's only been three days. Once an evil bitch, always one.' said Hermione to herself.

Then there was a knock on the door, "Hermione, are you in here?"

It was Ron, he was still in his tuxedo he wore in the wedding, all Hermione did was smile.

"Yeah Ron, why aren't you at the party?" said Hermione.

"I should be asking you that question," said Ron, comeing over and sitting on the foot of Hermione's bed, "You shouldn't be here all stuck by yourself."

"I just wasn't in the mood," said Hermione, "I went and brought Malfoy some food and he was being an ass to me."

"Well, that's normal Malfoy for you," said Ron.

"Yeah, I know" said Hermoine, setting her book down.

"So, Hermione, I came to find you to tell you that McGonagall came up to Harry and me a little while ago and told us that she and mostly everyone else wont let us go off to Godric Hollow, but will let us go to Godric Hallow with all of my brothers, to look around, and visit Harry's partents graves. That McGonagall got that trick from Dumbledore by finding out about everything us three plan before we ever go through with doing it."

"Well, when are you two ever do what you were told?" said Hermione, with a laugh, "Do you plan on sneaking off from everyone once there or something?"

"We don't know yet," said Ron, also with a laugh, "But what we do know, is that we're going back to school, cause we're being watched by every single Order Member.  Finding those Horcruxes will have to come later then we thought."

And then suddenly Ginny came into the room and said, "Ron, Hermione, McGonagall's looking for you, come down."

All three then left the room, and headed downstairs to Fred and George's room, where Harry, Professor McGonagall, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, and Malfoy were waiting.

"Yes, good you're here," said Professor McGonagall, " Now, I spoke with everyone you could possibly amagine, that should know about young Mr. malfoy here, and we came to a conclusion."

"And what may that be Professor?" said Hermione.

"We are going to leave Draco Malfoy under your protection, and when I say 'your' I mean you three," said McGonagall

"What?! No!" said Harry, "Why?"

"Because you three are the last people anyone would ever think of watching him," said Professor McGonagall, "everyone knows you four are childhood nemisis, and that Harry here would rather kill him then protect him."

"If you know I would rather kill him, I say again, why?" said Harry, "He's evil, he's always been, He's a Death Eater, nobody stops being a Death Eater! We shouldn't be protecting him!"

"Now, now Potter, don't be so mean" said Malfoy, with a grin.

"He's different Harry, he's barely seventeen," said Professor McGonagall, "He didn't choose this. It was punishment for what his father did."

"That's right," said Malfoy wtih a smirk.

"You think he didn't choose this!" said Harry, completely ignoring Malfoy, "It's in his blood, they all choose it!"

"Harry, my dear, we all know the Malfoys are one of the biggest power hungry wizarding families known to us," said Mrs. Weasley.

"Why, thank you," said Malfoy.

"But everyone must be trusted once in their lives." said Mrs. Weasley, also ignoring Malfoy.

"Like we trusted Snape," said Harry, "And we all know how that turned out. He killed Dumbledore!"

"We are aware of that, Harry," said Professor McGonagall, "But don't forget, Malfoy didn't, he's not a killer."

"That's right, "said Malfoy.

"Shut up Malfoy!" said Harry, and then he went silent. the words Dumbledore said to malfoy right before he died went though his head. 'he cannot kill you if you are already dead. Come over to the right side, Draco, and we can hide you more completely than you can possibly imagine'...'Come over to the right side, are not a killer.'

"Fine," said Harry, "But if he turns on us, it's not my fault."

Chapter 6: ..Torture me some more why don't you
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Suddenly, Harry thought of something.

"How are we going to watch him?"

"Excuse me?" said Professor McGonagall.

"How are we going to watch him? I mean, you're making us come back to school, and how are we going to watch over Malfoy while we are at school?"

"You, Mr. Potter will find that out later." said Professor McGonagall, now leaving the room.

Everyone else followed Professor McGonagall, until only Ron, Harry, Hermione and Malfoy were left in the room.

"I can't believe this," said Harry.

"You?" said Malfoy, "I have to be watched after by the likes of you three, I'd rather have the Death Eater find me now."

"You're not going to die under our watch Malfoy," said Hermione.

"Says you Granger" said Malfoy, "You're such the little angel, these two here will just let me die"

"True," said Ron sitting down smirking, "I couldn't care less"

"Ronald, don't be like that," said Hermione giving Ron the evil eye, "It's the right thing to do, It's what Dumbledore would of wanted"

"Your right Hermione," said Ron, "But, it's Malfoy, I mean come on, the way he treated us for all these years, you know I would think it."

"Go to hell Weasel" said Malfoy glaring at Ron.

"You first" said Ron, glaring back.

Right then Fred and George came into the room, letting in screams of enjoyment from the party downstairs.

"Come on you three, Bill's going to throw the garter!" said Fred.

"Yeah, hurry up, it's crazy down there, Fleur already threw the bouquet and mum tackled Tonks trying to get it" said George

Harry and Ron then ran out of the room with Fred and George, but Hermione took her time, once she got to the door she looked back to Malfoy. He fluffed his pillow and leaned back onto it, then took out a book that was on the floor and started to read it, 'Poor Malfoy' thought Hermione, and then Malfoy looked up at her.

"You still here?" said Malfoy, and then smiled at her, not a evil smirk, but normal, just a nice innocent smile.

Hermione smiled back and then left to the party.

"Aren't Bill and Fleur coming back from the honeymoon today?" said Ginny while everyone was at the breakfast table.

"Any minute now" said Mrs. Weasley, smiling.

"And when they do, we'll be heading to Godric Hollow," said Mr. Weasley, "And while there, nobody will run off, is that understood?"

Harry and Ron exchange looks, smiled and shooked they're head 'yes'.

"Good" said Mrs. Weasley, "Now, I'll go upstairs and give young Mr. Malfoy his breakfast."

"Oh, I'll do it Mrs. Weasley," said Herimone, getting up from the table and grabbing the tray of food on the counter.

"Okay then Hermione dear, go ahead" said Mrs. Weasley, and Hermione headed upstairs.

Once she got to the door of Malfoy's room, she opened the door and Malfoy was still asleep. She set the tray of food on the foot of the bed and walked to the front and pushed his shoulder to wake him up, but he wouldn't, he didn't move at all, she tried again but harder, it still didn't work, then she put the tips of her fingers in the cup of water on the food tray and sprayed Malfoy in the face with the water, which made him jerk-up and almost hit Hermione in the face doing so.

"What the Bloody Hell!" said Malfoy, "Why in the world did you do that?"

"I was waking you, you wouldn't get up" said Hermione, "It was the next thing that came to my mind."

"Well, what do you want?" said Malfoy, and then he noticed the tray of food on his bed, "More food? I'm not hungry."

"Well, Mrs. Weasley cares about you eating, so here's food for when you are hungry" said Hermione, now walking to leave the room, "Oh, by the way, you're coming with us to Godric's Hollow today."

Hermione almost got all the way out of the room when Malfoy realized what Hermione just said.

"Wait!?  I'm going with you? why the hell are you going to bring me with you?" said Malfoy.

"Well, Harry, Ron and I were left in charge of you, and we are all going to Godric's Hollow, so you're going with us, so we can keep a good eye on you." said Hermione.

"But how are you going to get me out of here without me being found?" said Malfoy, "Death Eaters are everywhere, I'm not safe no matter where I am, especially with Potter, they want to kill him way more then they want to kill me.."

"You're with us now and your safe there," said Hermione.

"That's true, they'll never think of finding me here in this Weasley dump," said Malfoy, "But they can still come there to find Potter, and then find me here too, no matter what, I'm not safe, neither are you, the safest place to be in is Hogwarts, with or without dear old Dumbledore."

"Well, you thought of a way to get them in before, why wouldn't you think they'll find another way?"said Hermione.

"All last year I've tried to find a way to get them in that school and through that one cupboard was the only way I found," said Malfoy, "Believe me, there is no other way, without them being caught doing so."

Suddenly they heard screams from down stairs, not scared screams but happy ones, Bill and Fleur just got home.

"The newly weds are home now aren't they?" said Malfoy, smiling at her.

"Yeah," said Hermione, smiling back, "I guess I'll just go then."

When Malfoy noticed her smiling at him, his smile then turned into a glare, and said "Yeah, leave me alone now, you filthy Mudblood."

Hermione then glared back at Malfoy and left the room.

'That prick' thought Hermione.

"I'm an idiot,'  thought Malfoy.

"What's up with me?" said Malfoy, to himself, "Being mean and then nice on and off all the time, what am I? bipolar? It's not that hard to stay mean at Granger, I've been doing it for six years. What's wrong with me?"

No more then ten minutes went by until Fred and George came into the room, with a small box with a Wealseys' Wizarding Weezes logo on the top.

"Now Malfoy, believe us, we really dont want to help you," said Fred.

"Yeah, we could care less about you," said George.

"But we promised we will help disguise you for this trip of ours to Godric's Hollow," said Fred.

"You'll be wearing this" said George, and he pulled out whatever was in the small box and handed it to Malfoy. In side it, was a ring.

"A ring?" said Malfoy,"No one will notice me, by wearing a ring?"

"It's not just any ring, Ferret face," said Fred, "It's our latest invention."

"Fine," said Malfoy putting the ring on," Whatever."

"We haven't figured out an name for it yet," said George, "since we just finished it yesterday."

"But when we test it on you, we'll then figure out the effect it has on someone for a long period of time and then we can name it ," said Fred, with a big smile.

"What?! No way!" said Malfoy, "You are not about to be testing one of your bloody inventions on me!", he pulled at the ring to take it off put it wouldn't budge. The ring seemed like it shrunk to fit Malfoy's finger personally. "Get this garbage off of me!"

"Oh, it too late," said George, "The ring fits to finger the second you put it on, it won't come off, until someone does the counter spell to it."

"Which is?" said Malfoy still pulling on the ring.

"Ha, like we're going to tell you," said Fred, "And we made this ring especially for you, with a strand of hair we took from you when you first came here, it'll stick to you and only you."

"You two are getting too good at this," said a voice comeing from outside door.

Ginny then walked into the room, with a big smile on her face, "You explain what it does?"

"We were getting there," said George, "Hold your horses."

"Well, like we were saying," said Fred, "This ring wont come off unless someone says the counter spell to it, and it actually doesn't really need to come off."

"Why the Bloody Hell not?" said Malfoy.

"It can be shut off and put back on by another spell," said George, "Which also, you won't learn."

"Yeah, but, WHAT DOES IT DO!" said Malfoy.

"It hides you," said Freg and George in unison.

"How?"said Malfoy

"Makes you invisible," said George.

"Merchandise that makes people invisible is our best seller," said Fred.

"But dont you dare use it to your advantage," said George, "It won't work for you that way,"

"It doesn't respond to the person the ring is on," said Fred, "oh, and dont bother running away while invisible either."

"There's a charm where you can be no more then ten feet away from the person who put the invisiblity on. And that person is also the only person who'll be able to see you." said George.

"Which in this case will be Hermione," said Ginny.

'Oh course,' thought Malfoy 'It always has to be her, turture me some more why dont you.'

Chapter 7: What can I say, I'm crazy about her
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

"Now that's a big suprise." said Malfoy, "Everyone else is too afraid to even be near me for a long period of time."

"You wish Malfoy," said Fred, "We're not even close to being afraid of you, we just hates your fucking guts to be around you for a long period of time."

"Yeah that's pretty much it," said George.

"Now, come on you guys," said Ginny, "Everyone's waiting down stairs."

The four of the then headed down stairs, with Fred and George holding onto Malfoy so he can't get away. Everyone was down stairs like Ginny said, but Fleur was there begging Bill not to go.

"Bill, ve just got back, we should stay togever, stay ere wit me."

"Fleur, I hold father I'd accompany them on this trip." said Bill, "You'll be fine here with mum."

Mrs. Weasley gave off a glare to Bill behind his back.

"Just come back in v'ne piece."

She gave him a small kiss and then Bill said,

"Now, we should get on our way now, shouldn't we. Everyone follow me."

They all then headed outside and crowded around Mr. Weasley and Bill, once they got around ten feet from the house.

"Now," said Mr. Weasley, "Professor McGonagall arranged a portkey for us, right here."

He pointed to the ground and there was a....

"A flower pot?" said Malfoy, "A bloody flower pot, what in the hell kinda portkey is that?"

"Shut up Ferret face," said Fred."Oh, wait, we almost forgot, Hermione, come here."

Hermione walked over to Fred and Malfoy.

"Yes?" said Hermione.

"We told you the spell for Malfoy's ring right?" said Fred.

"Yes you did," said Hermione, "The one to turn on the invisiblity, and the one to turn it off, and the one to take the ring off. All three."

Okay, good" said Fred, "Now, turn on the spell, non-verbally of course, so ferret face can't hear you"

Hermione did so, and to everyone, but her, Malfoy become invisible right then and there.

"It worked right?" said George, "You can see Malfoy?"

Malfoy, knowing no one can see him, but Hermione, he walked up to the twins and flicked them both off, right in front of their faces.

"Yes, I can," said Hermione, "And quite it Malfoy!"

Malfoy, stoped and just gave a smile.

"What? what was he doing?" said George.

"Oh, nothing," said Hermione.

"Okay, now that's taking care of, we can leave," said Mr. Weasley looking at his watch, " And right on time too, now everyone touch the portkey......okay,, in three....two......"

All of a sudden everyone was twirled in the air, squeezed in every direction and then the next thing, they were in an abandoned town. It seemed like no one has lived there in years. Hermione can see, just around the corner, that there was a graveyard, that read "Godric's Hollow's Cemetary."

"This?" said Hermione, "Is Godric's Hollow?"

"What happened to it?" said Harry, "I thought people still lived there."

"No, not in a while," said Bill, "Abandoned for around two years now."

"There was a sighting of Death Eaters here a couple of years ago," said Mr. Weasley", and everyone here moved out, believeing it wasn't safe anymore, concidering this is also the place where...."

"My parents were killed," said Harry, "yeah, I figured."

"And Harry," said Bill, starting to walk down the sidewalk, to the right of them," That right there, was where you're parents house was."

Bill pointed to an empty lot, where Harry's house once stode. There was no remains on the house left, but Harry didn't figure any better, because it's been sixteen years.

Harry, quitely, walked to the empty lot. Ron and Hermione followed him, and Malfoy tried to stay still, but once Hermione got ten feet away for Malfoy, he was then started to get dragged with her, as if he was as light as a feather. It was almost as if he was gliding along.

"What the bloody hell?," said Malfoy, laughing, "For some stupid reason, I find this quite fun."

Everyone looked around, wondering where Malfoy was when he said that. But still, Hermione was the only one who could see him.

"Nice to know that Malfoy is still here" said Bill, "and what's so fun?"

"I bet the gliding." said Fred," He was probably trying to stand still, and when Hermione walked away, he just glided with her, being dragged along."

"It was so cool when I tried it, but then my feet started to feel like jelly afterwards, so we had to quite." said George.

"Granger! Stop!" said Malfoy, and Hermione doing so, rolling her eyes, and then looking at him," You weasles are saying my feet are going to turn to jelly if I glide..."

"Feel like jelly," said George, looking towards the spot where he heard Malfoy's voice, "And no, we fixed it, so don't be a bloody ferret about it."

Then Harry, who wasn't paying attention to a word anyone was just saying, bent down to the grass in the empty lot, felt the grass with his hands, and then his scar, and said, "This is where it happened, this is where my parents died, and where I got my ..." he rubbed this scar, and then put his face in his hands.

"It's okay mate," said Ron, bending down aside of Harry, putting his hand on Harry's shoulder

"Yeah Harry," said Hermione, walking over to Harry and bending down on his other side, "It's okay, it was years ago."

"Don't you think I know that," said Harry, "It's just, I can't remember anything about it, other then a flash of green light. I can't changed what happened in the past..." Harry then got up, and stode straight, "But I will, without a doubt, avenge my parents."

"Awww," said Malfoy, "Poor little Potter is getting all proud."

"Malfoy!" said Harry, turning Malfoy's direction, not knowing exactly where he was, "Just because I can't see you, doesn't mean I can't beat you to a pulp!"

"You couldn't beat me to a pulp, even if you could see me," said Malfoy.

"You wanna bet!" said Harry now walking Mafloy's direction, and then tried to swing at him, but he was three feet off, and only hit air.

"You missed" said Malfoy, with his arms crossed, and then walked up to Harry, and kicked him in the back of the leg, and made him fall to the ground.

"Now, the both of you, quite it!" said Hermione, walking between them. "Malfoy, don't take your invisibility to your advantage. I will take the spell off, and you'll get caught. And also, if you keep talking, you also can get caught, so SHUT IT!"

Mafloy glared at Hermione, and she glared back. Hermoine then turned to help Harry off the ground, and with her back turned, Malfoy smiled, a big smile, then slapped himself in the face, 'Stop it malfoy' , he thought to himself, 'Dont start that up again'.

"Now, now, all of you," said Mr. Weasely, "Let's calm down. Now, Harry, the grave yard is there at the corner, if your ready to go there."

"Yes, Mr. Weasely, let's go." said Harry.

Harry, Ron and Hermione, ahead of everyone else, then started to walk down to the corner, where the graveyard was, and the closer they got to the graveyard, the bigger and bigger it got. It was a huge grave yard, and every last bit of it was full. It was unbelieveable, it looked like the graveyard could go on for miles..

"My parents are in here?" asked Harry.

"Yes Harry, towards the middle, under a willow tree." said Mr. Weasely, "It was such a beautiful spot, last time I saw it, but that was years ago."

It seemed like the walk went on forever to Hermione. The grave yard really was as long as it looked. The whole walk everyone was really silent. Nobody wanted to talk. Being in the graveyard made everyone seem very depressed. Every once in a while Mr. Weasley would tell Harry what direction to go, but other then that, no one said a word.

But dispite the fact of the silence, Hermione, every other ten seconds, would take a second glance to Malfoy, who seemed the most depressed of the whole group. Malfoy's face practically looked like he was about to cry. Hermoine had no clue why Mafloy would looked like that. She became more and more curious, the more she looked at him.

'He seems so sad. Out of everyone, I wouldn't of thought of him being this way' thought Hermione. 'What could be doing this to him?'

The moment Malfoy went into the graveyard, he felt horrible. He couldn't really explain it, it even was confusing himself. The graveyard seemed really familiar, like he was there not that long ago. He just had some weird vibe in him, telling him something he couldn't explain.

But everytime he felt the worst, he'd look up to Hermione, who was looking back at him, so then he quickly looked back down to him feet.

'She sure looks beautiful''
thougt Malfoy, 'DAMN IT MALFOY, QUIT! Oh, forget it, what can I say? I'm crazy about her.'

Chapter 8: Neither do I
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

"We're here," said Mr. Weasley, "You're parents graves are right there."

Mr. Wealsey pointed forward to the spot where there was a conjoined gravestone, under a giant dead willow tree. The gravestone was a statue of two angels, one male, and one female, standing, holding eachother in their arms. It was cracked in many places and looked like moss and ivy were growing all over it. Harry walked over to it, nobody saying a word, and be bend down and uncovered the the plaque on the base, and read it, and it said:

"Laugh your heart out, dance in the rain,

cherish the memories, Ignore the pain,

love and learn, forget and forgive,

because remember you only have

one life to live."

In Loving Memory

Devoted friends...........even better parents.

When Harry finished reading, he closed his eyes and put his hands to the ground, and started crying. Hermione and Ron walked over to Harry and bend down to the ground with him again and read the plaque, while comforting him.

"Harry, don't cry," said Hermione, "it's okay, and look, the gravestone is beautiful."

"Yeah Harry," said Ron, "cheer up mate."

Hermione then was tapped on the shoulder, and she turned around, and Malfoy was standing right up behind her, with a very cerious look on his face, jesturing for her to come with him. He look a bit scared. Hermione got up, and Ginny went to take her place in comforting Harry, and Hermione walked behind the willow tree, not faceing anyone.

"What?" said Hermione.

"Shhh!" said Mafloy, "keep it quite, I need to say something."

"Now, come on Malfoy," said Hermione, staying in her normal tone, "what is it?"

"I mean it Granger, keep it down," said Malfoy, "I'm serious."

"Fine," said Hermione in a whisper, "what?"

"This place," said Malfoy, looking around, "I-I-I just don't like being here, Its-Its just, I feel wrong being here, something doesn't seem right."

"Why would say that?" said Hermione.

"It seems familiar," said Malfoy.

"What seems familiar?" said Hermione.

"Walking into the graveyard, walking all the way in here, that gravestone, its all familiar, like I've been here before." said Malfoy. Hermione can now see even more fear in his eyes.

"It's a graveyard Malfoy," said Hermoine, "There are a lot of graves here, and a lot of people have been here before to visit them, you possibly have been here before, to visit some dead relative."

"No, it's not like that," said Malfoy, "I remember coming here, when I was little, with my mum and my uncle, when all of this crap whole was a decent graveyard. They did something, something near this tree."

"Why are you doing this?" said Hermoine, "We came here to visit Harry's parents, why do you have to be all negative right now?"

"I'm not trying to be negative Granger," said Malfoy, "I'm being serious."

Malfoy, then walked to the trunk of the tree, felt around it, and what looked like him seeing if there was a spot on the bark that came off.

"What are you doing now?" said Hermione.

"Shhh!" said Malfoy, and then all of a sudden, Malfoy pulled out a large piece of the tree bark, "Granger, give me my wand?"

"What? No" said Hermione.

"You have it don't you? I just need it for one second." said Malfoy.

"I said no Malfoy," said Hermione, "I'm not about to just hand over your wand."

"Fine Granger," said Malfoy, "Then you take out your wand and point it at the trunk."

"Granger, come on."

"What's going on here?"

Harry Ron and Ginny came walking around to them, all with their faces looking confused.

"Hermione?" said Ron, "Why were you two yelling?"

"It's nothing," said Hermione, "Malfoy just wanted me to point my wand at the tree. Where is everyone else?"

"They went over to visit one of Mr. Weasley's old friend's grave, and why would Malfoy want that?" said Harry.

"I have no clue." said Hermione.

"Well," said Malfoy, everyone confused of his where abouts, so Hermione pointed to Malfoy's direction, "Since I can't keep this quite, I'll just say it. I was trying to tell Granger to point her wand to the tree to she can open it."

"What?" said Harry.

"Open it, something is wrong here, and I might now why, if just someone will just point their fucking wand at this tree, and try to open it!"

"Why should we?" said Ron, "How can we trust you that anything is even in this tree?"

"Fine," said Hermione, "I'll do it."

Hermione then turned to the tree, took out her wand, pointed it to the spot on the tree that Malfoy tore off the bark and a flash of blue light came out of her wand and suddenly, a small hole blasted open. Malfoy then shoved his arm in the hole, and then when he took out his arm, there was a small package in his hand. Harry quickly took the package away from Malfoy, and started to examine the outside of it.

"What is this?" said Harry.

"I don't know," said Malfoy.

"Then how did you know it was in there?" said Ron.

"I knew something was in the tree, I just didn't know what it was," said Mafloy, "It happened a long time ago, I can't remember every last detail."

"What happened a long time ago?" said Ron.

"My mum and Uncle Regulas came here to hide something from the Dark Lord," said Malfoy.

"Did you say Regulas?" said Harry, "Regulas Black?"

"Yes I did Potter," said Malfoy, "He died not much after that too."

Harry tried to open the package but the paper on the package wouldn't rip, not even a budge.

"And knowing my uncle, it won't just open by tearing it open with your hand," said Malfoy, so Harry took out his wand, "And I really think you shouldn't do that either."

"And why not?" said Harry, "I don't need to listen to you,"

"Harry," said Hermione, "Don't you think that it can't really be that easy, I mean, if Malfoy's right and Regulas put it there, something horrible can really happen."

Harry thought for a moment, and Hermione was right, and he knew better to not listen to her, so he put the package in his pocket. And he had a really big hunch what would be in there, and he knew, the last time he tried to find it, someone was killed.

"Fine," said Harry, "I'll wait, but just please, no one, and I really mean no one tell the others about this." Harry took out his wand, and repaired the tree so it looked like the way it was beforehand, "I mean it Malfoy."

"Why Potter, still can't trust me can you?" said Malfoy.

"Why should I?" said Harry, "One minute you're all evil, and in the next, you're helping us. I don't know what part of you to trust."

"Neither do I Potter," said Malfoy, he then took a glance at Hermione, and said again, "Neither do I."

Chapter 9: ...I hope
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

The group of them, all silent, walked away from the tree and headed towards to where Mr. Weasley and the others where. Ron and Ginny both looked confused on what just happened. Then Harry had a blank look on his face, not knowing really how to react but to just look at the package. But then Hermione, knowing that she was the only one who can actually see Malfoy, was afraid to tell Harry and Ron that while looking at Malfoy, she can see the biggest fear in his eyes, like he did something he regreted horribly. Malfoy then looked up, to look at Hermione, and saw her staring at him, but he didn't smile, or react at all, he just kept on frowning, looking terrified, and for some reason, he was hoping Hermione would notice. And she did.

Hermione then liped-sinked the words 'what?' to Malfoy, and Malfoy walked closer to Hermione and whispered in her ear, "When we get back to the Burrow, I need to talk to you, in private."

But at the same time Malfoy was whispering, Harry started speaking to himself.

"How was that so easy?," whispered Harry, examining the package some more, "It was torture trying to get the fake one. And I didn't even find it, Malfoy did."

"Harry?" said Ron, in a whisper also,"You okay mate?"

"I'm fine Ron," said Harry.

"No you're not," said Ron, "You are as confused about what Malfoy just did as I am."

"I was supposed to find the horcruxes Ron, me, not Malfoy. Dumbledore told me I had to." said Harry.

"You think a horcrux is in that package? That locket?" said Ron, "How can you be sure, I mean, it could be anything."

"Regulas Black, R.A.B." said Harry, "Malfoy said Regulas put this package there, it just has to be it, I just know it."

"Well Harry, " said Ron, "Not that I don't believe you, but you shouldn't get your hopes up. Like you said earlier, how do you know if you can rust Malfoy. It could just be a trap, wanting us to have it."

"What are you two talking about?"

Ginny just walk beside Ron and Harry, with a concerned look on her face.

"Nothing," said the two of them in unison.

"Okay," said Ginny in a I-dont-believe-a-word-you're-saying kind of voice.

The moment everyone got back home from Godric's Hollow, everyone was all in a awkward silence. Hermione led Malfoy to his room, and lifted the spell so he was normally visible again. Then Draco sat down on his bed, opened his mouth to talk to Hermione when Ginny came bursting in the room.

"Yeah Ginny?" said Hermione

"Come to my room, there's something I have to show you." said Ginny, and she ran back out of the room, and Hermione flowed her, locking Malfoy's door behind her.

Once they got back to Ginny's room, Hermione looked around to see what Ginny was talking about but there was nothing different, but Ginny was just sitting on her bed, smiling.

"What is it?" said Hermoine, confused.

"Nothing," said Ginny, still smiling.

"Then what was all that about?" said Hermione.

"I wanted to get you out of that room before you spend way too much time with Malfoy." said Ginny, yet still smiling.

"What? Why?" said Hermione, still confused.

"Since you, Harry and Ron became the look-out gaurds for Malfoy, you've been the only one to actually look-out for him."

"So, you've been spending a lot of time talking to him during you trips giving him food for meals." said Ginny, not giving up on smiling.

"Your point is, Ginny?" said Hermione, "I mean, Harry and Ron aren't going to look-out for Malfoy, they won't help him, I'm the only one who will go near him. So I talk to him, big deal, no one else will, and how else will we ever find stuff out about him, if no one will go near him without wanting to kill him."

Ginny didn't respond, but smiled wider.

"What?!" said Hermione.

"Are you sure that's all?" said Ginny.

"Yeah," said Hermione, "Why else would I speak to him, it's not like I'm ......"

Hermione froze.

"...not like you're what? what Hermione?" said Ginny, "Not like you're falling for him?"

"NO, of course not, don't be crazy," said Hermione, "We don't get along half the time, we still yell at each other all the time, it's like he's bipolar or something, it's like he can't choose from being nice and happy, to being mad, crude, and an out-right horide person."

"Sure" said Ginny, not convinced.

"Ginny, Please, be serious," said Hermione, "He's a git."

"What ever you say," said Ginny.

"I'm not falling for him," said Hermione, "I'm being the normal me, and being nice to someone that deserves it."

"What? You think he deserves it now?" said Ginny.

"He was being chased by Death Eaters, his parents were killed and then now they want to kill him just because he didn't kill Dunbledore," said Hermione, "I found him sleeping in the dirt sparving to death with nothing more then a broom and a suitcase full of clothes. I felt he deserved someone to listen to him. It's the least I could do."

"Fine," said Ginny, still not convinced.

"Ginny!" said Hermione, "I'm serious."

"I'm not falling for him, I'm being nice."

"Really, I am"

"I said okay,"

"But seriously Ginny, me only talking to Mafloy a little bit more then normal, that's the only reason why you think that?" said Hermione

"A little bit more then normal," said Ginny, "You've probably talked to him more then you've talked to me since you two got here."

"That's not true," said Hermione, "I'm helping out with getting information from him."

"Oh, yeah, and what have you found out then?" said Ginny.

"You see, you can't think of anything," said Ginny.

"Well, umm...he said once that for the past 5 year he's only been acting like he cared about him family only for his father to believe he cared."

"Really, and that's it?" said Ginny.

"Um, well, he told everyone that Voldemort killed his parents and Snape." said Hermione.

"He said that to everyone, we know that already," said Ginny.

"Well... " said Hermione thinking.

"Hermione, all this time, you've been talking to him, and nothing useful has come out of it." said Ginny.

Hermione went silent, Ginny was right.

"Hermione?" said Ginny.

"Hermione still didn't answer.

"I'm sorry, it's just what I've noticed. Okay, it may not be true, but if it is and you want to tell me, then tell me when you feel ready okay?"

"I haven't fallen for him," said Hermione, but to herself she was saying 'yes you have'
"Okay, let's just get going," said Ginny, "I'm hungry, you want to come with me to the kitchen?"

The two of them then left Ginny's room, and as they are walking down the stair, Hermione then remembered Malfoy telling her earlier in the graveyard, that he had to talk to her, but she wasn't about to go in his room, after what just happened with Ginny, she just couldn't have Ginny believeing she's falling for Malfoy, even if it may be kind of true.

'So what,'
thought Hermione, 'I talk to Malfoy, I'm being nice, and yeah, half of the time I talk to him I don't really get much information from him, but he's lonely and needs someone to talk to, and I'm the only one who will. The fact he's absolutely adoreble looking all helpless is totally pass the point. And okay, I'm falling for him now, it doesn't mean it'll least. Yeah, it won't last, .........I hope.'
she said to herself.

Chapter 10: Within time.....
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Harry and Ron, the moment they got home from the graveyard, went into Ron's room and just stared at the package, nothing else, just complete silence for several minutes. Neither of them knew what to do. Then Ron broke the silence.

"You think we should show someone?"

"No," said Harry.

"Then what?" said Ron.

"I don't know," said Harry, and he started to fiddle with it some more, still unable to rip the paper on the package, "Maybe we should just keep this quite until we figure out how to open it,"

"Well, Malfoy said it has a spell on it," said Ron, "What if it's a curse and you open it and suddenly go into some weird coma or something?"

"Ron, I don't know," said Harry, "Just keep quite about it for now, and maybe the next time we see McGonagall, I might say something."

Hermione didn't go back to Malfoy's room for the rest of the day, except when she quickly set down a tray of food for him at dinner time on a near by chair. She avoided Malfoy trying to get her attention to talk to her.

She did the same thing the next day, and then the next. Now, Malfoy is just getting confused. And slowly he put the pieced together, she was avoiding him.

'She hasn't looked me in the eye since she went off to talk to baby Weasel a couple days ago.'
thought Malfoy, 'Damn Granger, girls and their minds.'
At that moment, Hermione came walking into the room with another tray of food, and set in on the near by chair, once again, not saying a word, and not looking at Malfoy at all. Suddenely Malfoy had an idea, and right before she got to the door, Malfoy spoke.

"I love you"

Hermione stoped and turn to face Malfoy.

"Excuse me?"

"Ha, I got you to speak to me." said Malfoy, laughing.

Hermione rolled her eyes, and turned back around and put her hand of the door nod but Malfoy suddenly walk up and put his hand on the door, stoping her from opening it.

"You know Granger, I told you at the graveyard I needed to talk to you," said Malfoy.

Hermione didn't speak, just glared at Malfoy.

"You've been avoiding me," said Malfoy, "and I don't appreciate it coming from a prissy little girl like you."

"Prissy?" said Hermione, "I'm not prissy, and I haven't been avoiding you, I've just been busy."

"Doing what?" said Malfoy.

"Helping around the house," said Hermione.

"Yeah, sure," said Malfoy, "then explain why you have been avoiding looking me in the eye or saying one word to me when ever you come in here."

"I don't know," said Hermione, "I just haven't."

"Oh," said Malfoy, "Little miss smartie can't think up another reason."

"Shut up," said Hermione, "and if you want me to talk to you, then okay. Why are you like this? Being rude one minute and nice the next, you want people to trust you, and save your ass, but you're not makeing it any easier for us!"

"That's the way I am Granger, live with it," said Malfoy.

"I've lived with it since I met you," said Hermione, "Strick that, I haven't lived with it, 'cause you've always been a complete asshole since first year! I can't remember ever seeing you on any good side, EVER!"

Malfoy then suddenly froze, didn't speak, frowned a little. Then almost amediately stoped and smirked.

"What?" said Hermione.

"You know, not only have I been all like this," said Malfoy, "One minute you're all nice to me, talking to me, listening to me, and then you yell at me, telling me I'm an asshole, why is that?"

"Well, I don't know," said Hermione, "I'm a girl, that's how we are sometimes."

"Yeah, sure Granger," said Malfoy, "Whatever."

"Well, then, can I leave now?" said Hermione, frowning.

"I haven't told you what I needed to say yet." said Malfoy.

"Fine," said Hermione, "Shoot."

All of a sudden Ginny voice came from outside the room, "Hermione, come quick, McGonagall here, she's asking for you."

Hermione smiled, Malfoy frowned.

"Well, you missed out I guess." said Hermione, "But you heard her, I need to go."

Malfoy let go of the door not saying a word, and let Hermione go. Hermione and Ginny then walked down the stairs together, Ginny staring at Hermione, smiling. Hermione then looked at Ginny, and noticed her smiling at her, and said,

"Why are you smiling now?"

"What were you talking to Malfoy about?" said Ginny.

"Oh, shut up now," said Hermione, "I was leaving right away but he block me in, and tried to talk."

"Did he now?" said Ginny, with a bigger smile.

"I said shut up," said Hermione, "Now, come on."

The got to the bottom of the stairs and saw Professor McGonagall sitting at the kitchen table with Harry and the whole Weasley clan, all whom were staring at Hermione.

"Please, take a seat Mrs. Granger," said Professor McGonagall, pointing to a chair.

"Is something wrong?" said Hermione, sitting down next to Professor McGonagall.

"Well, I wouldn't really call it bad news, nor will I call it good," said Professor McGonagall, "But I have to inform you, and Harry and Ron as well, that, you're three's job on looking after Malfoy, is going to a bit harder."

"How is that not really bad news?" said Harry.

"Now, Potter, please," said Professor McGonagall, "I didn't say it'll be good for you. It might or might not be good for Malfoy. We have came to a decision, the Ministry and I that is."

"Then what is it Ma'am?" said Hermione.

"Well," Professor McGonagall then stoped, and thought, then after a few seconds, "I think Mr. Malfoy should be here for this too."

"I'll get him Minerva," said Mr. Weasley, who then walked up stairs, and a minute later came back with Malfoy at his side.

"Draco, if you please, sit down," said Professor McGonagal.

So, Malfoy, not saying anything, sat in the seat next to Hermione.

"Well, Draco, I've informed the Ministry about you as you may know, several weeks ago, and we've thought about it through, and we came to a conclusion for keeping you safe."

"And?" said Malfoy.

"We're going to imform the wizarding world in the Daily Prophet later on today, that you are dead."

Everyone all at once, other then Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, screamed, "What?!"

"Dead?! Why in the bloody hell would you possibly do that?!" said Malfoy, this a mixture of anger and fear on his face.

"Now, Draco, there's a good reason..."

"I wanted to come to you all to help me stay alive! And now, you're telling everyone I'm dead?!"

"Now, Draco, stop!" said Professor McGonagall, looking extremely serious, "It wasn't my idea."

"What is everyone going to think?!"

"Now, Draco..."

"I'm not a dog, I can't just 'play dead'"

"DRACO!" said Professor McGonagall, finally getting iritated, "Now, yes, it's going to be a shock to many people, reading in the paper that you are, dead, but it's actually good for you."

"Good? You can't be serious." said Malfoy.

"I am completely serious about this Draco," said Professor McGonagall, "As you said, The Death Eaters and You-Know-Who are trying to kill you, am I right?"

"Now, do you think they'll still try to find you if you're already dead?" said Professor McGonagall.

"Well, no, but..."

"Professor?" said Hermione, finally speaking.

"Yes Hermione?" said Professor McGonagall

"Do you actually think that they'll give up that easly on trying to find Malfoy? I mean, how do you believe they'll believe it right away?" said Hermione.

"We don't know if they will or they won't believe it right away, but that's where what the contents of the article in the paper come in." said the Professor.

"Then what does it say? How did I die?" said Malfoy, now smiling, wanting to know the answer.

"Now, to summarize it all, you were found dead in your house," said the Professor.

"That's it?" said Malfoy, "I was found dead? The same way I would of been if I didn't come to you?"

"Exactly," said the Professor.

"Hold on," said Malfoy, "So you're saying the only way for me to stay alive is to be dead to everyone else?"

"And be locked up away from everyone?"

"So no one can find you, yes"

Malfoy then suddenly went from a smile, to a complete frown, this isn't what he wanted.

"Well, all the member of the Order and everyone in this room, plus the important parts of the Ministry are the only ones who know, other then that, everyone will believe that your dead, we hope at least." said the Professor, "But the other part of our plan, is where you'll be staying."

"Where may I ask that'll be?" said Malfoy, still frown, not in the mood to yell anymore.

This now came to a shock for everyone. Why at a place with all those student? He'll be noticed for sure.

"Why put me in a place that's full of people if you want to hide me?" said Malfoy ," And in our school none the less."

"First things first, I heard of that ring Young Fred and George invented, and it works, am I right?" said the Professor.

"Perfectly," said Fred and George in unison.

"Well, that comes in handy, and plus, we already know where exactly to put you, and then it should be a problem when it comes to the other students finding you, since you won't be able to leave the vancany of the room." said the Professor.

"And were is that going to be? Where is the room he's going to be staying at?" said Hermione, "The Room of Requirements?"

"Within time you'll find out Miss. Granger." said the Professor.

Chapter 11: I'm Head Boy....
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Later on that day, all Hermione would do is stand in the kitchen waiting for an owl to fly to the window, holding the Daily Prophet in it's feet. It seemed like it was taking forever to her. Malfoy was in his room again, with a thousand questions on his mind. And then Harry and Ron were in Ron's room.

"I thought you were going to tell McGonagall about the package?" said Ron.

"I was going to," said Harry, "But it just didn't feel like the right time."

"Harry, you know McGonagall is going to want to know about it."

"Yeah, I know," said Harry with a serious face, but then smiled and eyed Ron with suprise, "But Ron, when have you been all, 'tell McGonagall, it's the right thing to do?' You're starting to sound like something Hermione would say."

"Shut it Harry,"

"Finally!" said Hermione, looking out the window, seeing a brown barn owl come flying towards the window, holding a Daily Prophet. The moment the owl came to the window, Hermione grabbed the paper away from it, gave it a galleon, and started to scan the paper while it flew away.

"Did you find it yet?" asked Ginny, who was standing right next to her.

"Not yet, it has to be somewh-.......HERE IT IS!" said Hermione.

"Well, go on, read it," said Ginny.

"Okay, well, the head line is - THE MALFOY FAMILY- FROM RICH TO WITHER." said Hermione, "now that's a bit bold, but anyway, it says ' Late afternoon yesterday, August 25, a young Draco Malfoy, 17, was found dead in the family house, the Malfoy Mansion.' Well they just went right to the point now didn't they, well, ' Auror's believe he was killed from the Unforgivable killing curse, "It was as if he was trying to run away, and there were no other trace of murder," said an Auror, who's identity may remain anonymous, "He had his broom and a suitcase with him, as if you was going to escape." Aurors all around has informed also that along with Young Draco Malfoy's death, his mother, Narcissa Malfoy, has gone missing, and Lucius Malfoy who's in Azkaban, has gone ill, believeing to be deathly. "One dead, one dying, and one missing." said the Auror, "They're just withering away." Now, to inform everyone, Lucius Malfoy is in Azkaban for being a known Death Eater, and there have been rumors of young Draco Malfoy being forced to follow in his fathers footsteps. "You-Know-Who, we believe, punished young Malfoy for doing wrong, and not doing what he was told......" Hermione stopped reading, she didn't need to anymore, the point was said, yet to Hermione, the point was said very badly.

"They just ramble on," said Hermione, "Practically saying the same thing over and over again, yet in different words."

"Oh well," said Ginny, "You going to show Malfoy?"

"Yeah, might as well," said Hermione, then she looks and sees Ginny smiling at her, and says, "He has a right to know what it says."

So Hermione walks up the stairs towards Malfoy's room, and once she got to the room, she hesitated for a little while, until she then unlocked it with her wand, and then entered. Then the first thing Hermione noticed is Malfoy, looking out the window, with no shirt on. She frowned, she's never saw malfoy without a shirt on before, and at the first time, he looked completely scrawny, as if he hasn't eaten for days, which Hermione didn't get since she's been sending up food for him every day for every meal, then there was the fact that he was pale as a ghost. Then Malfoy slowly turned around, and Hermione noticed he had a frown on his face, and then she saw a scar, comeing from the left side of his chest to so far down his body that it went past the top of his pants, and Hermione didn't want to know where it ended. But Mafloy when noticed Hermione look at him, with a frown on her face, looking at his scar. He quickly turned back around, and looked out the window again.

"What do you want Granger?" said Malfoy, not looking at her, sounding depressed.

"Are you okay?" said Hermione, concerned.

"Why would you say that?" said Malfoy, "You came here to show me the Prophet, didn't you? Just set it down and leave me the hell alone."

Hermione walked up to Malfoy, stode next to him and looked out of the window to see what he was looking at, and said, "No, I'm not going to leave you alone, I don't have to."

Malfoy then looked at Hermione while she looked out the window, and said, "Why? You want to stay? Keep me company?"

Hermione looked at him, smiled, and said, "No, but like you said, I'm here to show you the Prophet, but still, I'm not leaving just like that."

"Damn it Granger, what happened to when you hated me and couldn't stand the sight of me?" said Malfoy, not showing any change in emotion.

"Oh, that's still somewhere in me," said Hermione, "I'm just showing the caring part of me, is that a bad thing?"

Malfoy look back out of the window, and said, "Yes, yes it is,"

"What?" said Hermione, confused.

"I don't like you being like to me, I don't like it when people try to care about me when they don't, it's total bull crap, and I'm tired of it." said Malfoy, who then went away from the window, and sat on his bed, crossed his arms over his chest.

Now, Hermoine can see Malfoy's scar again, but now, Malfoy didn't care. He just sat there, waiting for her to just leave. But Hermione threw the Propet at him and leaned again the wall, and fold her arms, and said, "Read it."

Malfoy took the paper and turned to the page where it had his name in bold letters and began reading it. Hermione can see his expression changing from bein interested, to confused, to digust, then to laughter.

"This is crap," said Malfoy, "This is how everyone is supposed to find out I died? How is this believeable?"

"I don't know," said Hermione, eyeing Malfoy scar, still, until she couldn't help but ask, "How'd you get that?"

Malfoy then looked at Hermione's eyes, which were looking straight at his scar, so Malfoy looked down to his scar, and traced it with his index finger until he got to the top of his pants, and said, with a smile, "I fell."

"You fell?" said Hermione, not believeing what Malfoy said, "No one can get a scar like that from just falling!"

"So?" said Malfoy, "For all you know, I could of fallen and tumbled down a cliff."

Hermione rolled her eyes, and said, "I doubt it Malfoy, now, what really happened?"

"I told you, I fell." said Malfoy with a smile.

"Fine, then why are you so scrawny? I've been giving you food for weeks." said Hermione.

"High metabolism," said Malfoy still smiling.

Hermione, then rolled her eyes, said, "Forget you," said just walked out of the room.

Ginny was just down the hall waiting for Hermione, with her arms crossed against her stomach, Hermione walked towards her but then walked right past her, ignoreing the fact that she was there in the first place, and she want straight to the kitchen, so Ginny followed, without saying a word. Harry and Ron were now sitting at the kitchen table playing wizard chess, Harry was grinning, Ron was frowning, he was losing by the look of all of the his pieces were smashed. Hermione let out a grin and sat at the table right next to Ron, Ginny did the same, sitting next to Harry, both of whom turned and smiled at the girl sitting beside them.

"So," said Ron, looking back down to the chess board, "What have you been up to Hermione?"

"The Daily Prophet came," said Hermione, watching the two play, "I was showing Malfoy the article about his death, that's all, it's a bit poorly written."

"Well, Hermione," said Harry, "We were thinking of going to Diagon Alley soon, the list for our books should be coming."

"Yeah, and while we're there,...... you see I came up with an idea," said Ron, facing Hermione again, with a big grin, as if he was extremely from of himself.

"Really?" said Hermione, with disbelief, "You? came up with an idea? doing what exactly?"

"Well, you know, we're on the hurt, and we'll need supplies in all, so I was saying, while we're there, in Diagon Alley, once and a while, a couple of us at a time go off, and stock up. You know, with Fred and George's shop, their gizmos and stuff, they'll help us," said Ron, still grinning.

"You thought of this Ronald?" said Hermione, smiling back, "You really think Fred and George's stuff in their shop will help us with our hunt?"

Ron looked back at the chess board, stoped smiling, even frowned a bit, and said, "Yeah, well, it was just an idea, they've been coming up with better things in all, since that ring, we can use something like that too, stay safe and all, that's all."

"Actually, Ronald, I think that's a great idea," said Hermione, and Ron, with out looking but, smiled to himself, and blushed, "I mean, you're right, Fred and George's things in that shop can be quit brilliant, so they can be helpful. Okay, let's do it then....... But wait, Harry?"

"Were is everybody?" said Hermione, since she just noticed, looked around the first floor and out the window, no one was anywhere in sight. And it was oddly quite.

"Oh, yeah," said Ron, "Mum, and dad went off somewhere will Bill and Fleur, helping them find a home to move into, and Fred and George are at their shop, so we're the only ones left here, except Malfoy upstairs."

"And we'll being going to Diagon Alley alone? or with your parents?" said Hermoine.

"Well, my mum and dad are coming, so that's why we'll have to sneak off from them," said Ron,

"And look," said Ginny, pointing to the window, where there were three owls coming right towards the Burrow, "The lists are here now,"

Harry then got up from his seat and walked over to the kitchen window and opened it up to let the owls come in. And then when they did, all three of the owls flew in and landed on the kitchen table right in front of the other three. Ron took the letters off the one owl with two letters, from him and Ginny, and Hermione did the same for the owl with her letter, and Harry did the same with the owl with his. They all opened their letters, and suddenly Hermione let out a loud scream.....

"Head Girl? HEAD GIRL?!" screamed Hermione, "I'm Head Girl."

"Oh my God, Hermione, Congradulations, that's wonderful." said Ginny, who walked to the other side of the table to hug her best friend.

"Yeah," said Ron, smiling at her, "You deserve it Hermione,"

Harry, who didn't even noticed the commotion going on, was too busy looking at his letter, with extremely disbelief, He then turned the letter up in his hand for the gold badge, with the letters HB, to fall into his hand. He did it, just like his father, he became Head Boy.

"Harry? mate? are you okay?" said Ron, who just noticed Harry looking dazed out, so he started waving his hand in front of face.

"What? Oh, yeah," said Harry, not taking his eyes off his letter and badge.

""What's the matter?" said Hermione, getting up from her seat and walking around to see Harry, "Something wrong with your letter Harry? What's......OH MY GOD! HARRY! YOU'RE HEAD BOY?!"

"WHAT?!" said Ron, and Ginny, at the same time, with, what seemed to be a mixed of complete shock and happiness put together.

"I'm Head Boy," Harry was more happy then he was in months.
