Richelle Bearotryvich - good looking, brilliant, tough, performs wandless magic, best actress around. After finally being introduced to magic when she was 14, she spent 4th-6th year at Durmstrang. Only girl ever to do so and 7th year she heads to Hogwarts. Sirius falls for her, Remus falls for her, Peter is terrified of her, James is her new best buddie, Lily is her jealous friend, and in the end... well guess you just have to see what happens. ;)

Chapter 1: Meet 'n' Greet
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

She stepped onto the platform and her eyes immediately began scrutinizing every person and object around her. ‘Nothing special’ she thought. Suddenly a girl with bright red hair ran into her. The green-eyed vixen was slightly irritated from her collision with the hard ground and she looked up to see what she had run into.

Lily’s POV

Lily immediately realized it was a who not a what she had run into. Her attempt to escape James’ 359th declaration of love had lead her to run into some new girl, who was obviously not a 1st year.

“Hello” I said holding out my hand to the brunette.

Girl’s POV

“Sup?” I said shaking her hand firmly.

“My name is Lily Evans” she said with a smile. I saw four boys approaching us from behind her and as soon as she finished her sentence…

“And my name is James Potter, Lily’s eventual husband, and Head Boy to this lovely lady’s Head Girl” said the one with black, tousled hair.

“Nice to meet you both. I am Richelle Bearotryvich. Most people just call me Biz or BJ,” I gave genuine half-smile to them both, “Now if you would be so kind as to introduce me to these three stragglers.” Lily was recovering from my nickname BJ – had nothing to do with that, but she never asked about it, so why explain it?

James however piped up, “Richelle I would like to introduce you to Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter.”

I raised my eyebrow and looked a James, “One, you can call me Biz, and two, does Pete here not have a last name.” James moved to respond and I as any good American would, rudely cut him off.

“Actually James, I don’t really care what his last name is, thanks though.” I turned to Sirius, Remus, and Peter and said in my usual melodic, sarcastic tone, “Well Siri, nice to meet you, love the hair” I ran my hand through the side of his hair, what I could reach anyway, I’m only 5’ 4”. “Petey boy, hows it hangin’?” I low-fived his hand and he looked like he had just been poisoned. Then I turned to Remus. “And last but certainly not least, Monsieur Remus Lupin. I’ll just have to keep an eye on you” I picked up my trunk and walked past him, “Won’t I?” I said in a low whisper as I brushed his arm.

As soon as I was passed them all I hollered forward but for the five to hear, “Well ya’ll comin’ to get a compartment or ya gunna leave me to make friends with some Slytherins?” They all jumped and followed.

Sirius’ POV

Damn, I want one. She introduced herself, very American, but on certain words I could hear some, maybe Russian accent? I don’t know. But damn did she look good. She was wearing low jeans with a tan belt. Good God look at that ass! Bad Sirius, bad. You need to respect her personality. I rolled my eyes at myself, yeah right. She wore a tan tank top and black sleeveless button up shirt. The button up was open and a I’d say a 5/6 carat smoky gem hung from a silver chain around her neck.

She had gorgeous shoulder length, shagged, burnt oak colored hair with dark red streaks throughout. It fell mysteriously in her face every once in a while. Silver, medium-sized hoops hung from her ears and she wore gold-rimmed glasses which hid dark forest colored eyes, the center was a brown with a thin rim of gold surrounding followed by a thick layer of dense green. Her whole body was enchanting, she wasn’t athletic necessarily, but she was well-designed in my mind. She wore black chucks on her feet, a black watch, a jean bracelet, and a silver ring with a blue stone in the center. Perfect, all of her.

Ah, she said she loved my hair, then again, who wouldn’t. This girl might be easy too. Oh well fresh meat, if not a challenge. What the Hell?!?! Did she just, she did! She flirted with Remus! Innocent Remus, I bet he doesn’t even get the meaning of BJ. She’s too rough for him, definitely.

Richelle’s POV

I love window seats, I really love window seats. I smiled to myself as everyone got comfortable. Lily turned to me, let me guess, yep, she’s starting a conversation…
“So, uhm, Richelle” I interrupted.

“Call me Biz”

“Well, no offense but I was wondering where you got your nicknames?”

“Well Biz because I was head of any and all business coming in and out of Durmstrang. Be it gambling, alcohol, pranks, summer jobs. Basically, you wanted the good life, you wanted to be my friend. Before long I was given the name Biz and it stuck. BJ comes from my last name B from Bear and J from my pet hawk Jewel. It was originally B and J when someone needed to get a hold of me and the constant company of my hawk. But it was shortened to BJ and it stuck. Not to mention it’s a fantasy every guy has of me.” I smirked at this last comment and cast a glance at Sirius, he shifted uncomfortably in his sheep and I noticed he bit his lip slightly. Then I turned back to Lily.

Suddenly Remus spoke up, “Did you say business in Durmstrang?”

“Yes I did. I attended Durmstrang for three years, 4th-6th. Then got bored and decided to transfer here. Dumbledore usually wouldn’t accept a student just for seventh year, but it would have been ridiculous for him to deny me.”

“Why is that?” Remus said skeptically.

“Simply because, my sweet,” Remus was across from me so I lifted my feet up and crossed them on the seat between his legs. “I am one of 86 magical persons alive who can perform wandless magic, and the youngest as well.” Remus looked at my feet and shifted slightly then looked up to me.

“Can you really?”

“Of course, I'll prove it to you soon enough.” I looked up at him at these last three words, I had been studying my unpainted but still very nice fingernails intently.

Ah, finally here. Boring trip, really. Lots of random subjects, lots of my sarcastic comments. Here we go. Once in the great hall with everyone settled all the first years and what-not Dumbledore told the students about me and magic then called for me. I entered grandly, as always. I had not changed. Quite frankly, why should I look like everyone else when I’m the new kid. Better to make a bang-up first impression. I entered through the doors and immediately the room dimmed, there was a green dark glow around me and on my face. Jewel flew down through a window that I had forced open and landed on m shoulder. While walking intently towards Dumbledore I snapped my fingers and fireworks went off overhead. When they had stopped I had reached the front and stood beside Dumbledore. I snapped again and the entire room went black, stars one after the other began to glimmer on the ceiling and very slowly all light came up.

“Thank you for that fantastic demonstration Ms. Bearotryvich.” Dumbledore said.

“Anytime.” I responded decidedly.

Dumbledore lifted the sorting hat to place it on my head and before it even had a chance to smell my hair I said strongly, “No need headmaster. I am going to be in Gryffindor, isn’t that correct” I directed the last sentence to the hat, but continued looking out to the audience.

The hat replied, “Yes, that’s exactly where you’ll be, though I wonder if…”

I cut off the hat, “If Slytherin would fit me better? Well, no need to wonder, it may very well fit me better, but I will still be in Gryffindor.” I walked down and sat smack between Sirius and Remus then looked up to Professor Dumbledore expectantly.

Sirius’ POV

“That was brilliant!” I told Biz honestly once the meal had begun.

“I know.” she responded, confidence dripping from every word. God I loved how she was so nonchalant about…well…everything.

“So Remus, how about showing me around Hogwarts after dinner? Or are you going to leave me to wander all by myself?” Biz said sweetly to Remus. Grrrr… why was he getting so much of her attention?

“Well, uhm, yeah I’ll show you around, no problem.” Remus responded.

Then suddenly, “No, no, no come on Remus, you can do better than that! You should have said something like, I’ll gladly show you around my dear, wouldn’t want any ill luck befalling such a pretty thing as you. It is an awfully dangerous castle.” Biz lowered her voice in mock manliness at “I’ll gladly.” No surprise everyone smiled and watched on to see what would happen next.

She started again, “I vote we try again, agreed?” She looked around and Lily, James, and Peter nodded, I was too busy glaring at Remus who had a slight tinge of red in his face.

“Alright, so Remus, could you, I mean would you, please, perhaps, teach me a couple of tricks of the castle, I’m awfully far behind this being my 7th and only year here.” Biz made herself sound a little weak and feeble, very mild. It was a voice that could make even Peter buck up and take charge like a man.

Remus shocked all of us when he said, “Oh… I’ll teach you much more than that.” His arm snaked around Richelle’s waist at the “Oh…” and he leaned into her and whispered the last part in her ear as his available hand glided up her inner thigh. Remus withdrew quickly and he was noticeably blushing, but trying to hide it. Richelle looked up at him, shocked, she had been staring at her plate when he made his move.

She grinned proudly and moved towards him, “Very good Remus, excellent.” And she… SHE KISSED HIM! What the hell?!?! She pulled back and winked at him then turned to Lily and starting discussing some history of magic topic. Remus went back to his food with a repressed grin playing on his lips. I can’t believe this!! Girls are not his area… they’re mine!

Remus’ POV

Her lips were so soft and so delicious. I could taste her breath... and it was sweet. The kiss was gentle but sent a rush of warmth through my entire body. I wanted to intensify it, wanted so much to pull her even closer to me, but before I knew it, she had pulled away. God, she’s amazing…

Chapter 2: That had to hurt
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Richelle’s POV

So far this year has been pretty good, I have a whole two weeks under my belt. Oh God, it’s only 6:30 in the morning, I have got to get a better sleeping schedule. I started doing the math in my head, if I went to bed at 1 and slept my usual six hours that should put me at seven, even though that is still early I will just take my time waking up. Note to self no more going to bed at 11 o’clock. Oh well, may as well get up now. I got up and jumped in the shower, ahh, hot water. After a quick 5 minute shower I got out and waded through the thick steam to the mirror. I cracked the window that was next to the mirror and the steam started to disappear. Friday…woot…so again with the uniform, at least at Durmstrang I could get away with pants everyday. Sigh, I put on my skirt, hmm, a tad too long, immediately it went from my knee to three inches or so above. Perfect. I pulled on my white button-up and checked the mirror. Hmmm, oh yes, I rolled up the sleeves. I magic-dried my hair and put on all my typical accessories, switching out hoops for dangling silver Eiffel tower earrings. Now… shoes…of course and immediately I was wearing strappy, navy blue heels that matched my skirt, oh and a gorgeous silver and navy blue anklet. I smiled to the mirror and my make-up and glasses were on. God I love being me… not that I’m conceited or anything. Well, maybe a little.
I walked down to the common room and pulled out “The Count of Monte Cristo” from my black messenger bag. The sun was up, it was 7 and in no time people would be swarming downstairs, I had maybe a half an hour to read.

“Hey you.” It was Sirius. Goodness, he was adorable. I closed my book and put it back in my bag.

“How do you do this fine morning, Sirius darling,” I responded in mock love.

“Sorry, didn’t mean to interrupt your reading.”

“Oh Sirius, yes you did, otherwise you never would have spoken to me,” I stood up and walked towards him. “But since you did interrupt me, I suppose I should ask how I may help you this morning.”

I was a mere 6 inches from him and I could smell that gorgeous cologne he wears. I smiled up at him, “Well?”

“Well… we have quidditch tryouts tomorrow…”

“So I am aware.” I stated pointedly.

“Yeah I know, I was curious as to whether or not you were going to try out.”

“No, Sirius. I will not be trying out. I will be there to watch, but if I desire to satisfy my competitive spirit I will do it more directly by openly challenging he with whom I have a problem. However I love the sport and will see you at tryouts, if only to watch.”

“Oh ok, sweet. So what were you reading?”

“The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. Great author, the book itself is about revenge. It’s one of my favorites.”

“Revenge? Somehow I think that would fit you.” “What are you saying, Siri-dear?”

“Well you just seem the rougher, go-get-em type, ya know? Not a bad thing, as a matter of fact, we don’t have girls around here like that so you’re a breath of fresh air. Not to mention incredibly sexy because of it.” He grinned mischeviously. I see where this will have to go.

Sirius’ POV

I stepped closer to her and my left hand managed to find its way down Richelle’s back and I leaned down to whisper the last sentence.

“Oh Sirius,” she responded, “I’m always sexy. And that is mostly because of my attitude… that go-get-em one you were talking about.” Oh man her voice was so gentle and stimulating.

“So true. You seem to know exactly what you want, you aim, and you always seem to get it.” My right hand was wrapping around her waist.

“Kind of like you and me.” She said. Oh the words I wanted to here.

“Kind of,” her lips were mere millimeters away from mine, “like,” I could feel her warm breath and I could feel her body pressed up against mine, “this.”

Richelle’s POV

Ouch that had to hurt. Poor Sirius. Bad, Richelle, bad.

Remus’ POV

I can’t believe it, there, the girl who could make me jump from the astronomy tower and try to fly was dangerously close to Sirius. Her hands were resting gently on his chest. No! That was how she was supposed to touch me. Damn it, Sirius. Couldn’t you just let me be happy once! I can’t!…. Oh my….. Ouch, that had to hurt.

Lily’s POV

God why are so many girls crowding the stairs to the common room, holy hell!

I can’t believe I just said that, Biz we have got to stop hanging out together. I finally broke to the bottom of the stairs and just as I did I saw Richelle wrapped in a suggestive embrace with Sirius Black bring her knee up hard and high and in less than a second Black was on the ground writhing in pain.

“Sorry Sirius. I just couldn’t help it.” Biz sat down next to him and stroked his hair gently.

“Shhhh, there, there Sirius, you’ll be ok. Just give it a few minutes.” Then she stood up and grabbed her messenger bag, slung it over her should in one swift, graceful motion and headed towards the portrait hole.

“I’m heading to breakfast, who would like to be my escort?” The pile of guys that had accumulated in the boys staircase leaped down and hovered around her, one went to grab her bag and she smacked his hand.

“Don’t touch the bag. Lily, you comin’?” I jogged over and stood next to her.

“Darren! What do you think you are doing? Just standing there behind me. For heavens’ sake, carry Lily’s books for her and accompany her to breakfast. Josh! For goodness gracious step out from behind Ms. Evans and walk me to breakfast.” Richelle stepped through the portal barking these last orders to Josh. He quickly caught up to her and she smiled and hit him gently on the shoulder.

“Relax, it was just a bit of fun, I’m not the Queen of England. You don’t have to jump at my orders. Honestly, I just wanted to talk to you about that Herbology project. You’re very good. Do you think you’d like to be my partner? I can do everything but actually make the plant grow.” Josh laughed and was immediately comfortable with her. How did she always manage to do that? She could make anyone feel like they were on top of the world, make anyone entirely relaxed around her, make anyone feel exactly as she wanted them to feel. I just couldn’t explain it.

“So Lily… How about Potter? When do you intend on throwing him a bone?”

“Pardon?” I said to her.

“Excuse us, gentlemen.” She pecked Tyler on the cheek and waved at Darren then pulled me down to a seat at the breakfast table.

Richelle’s POV

“Lily, honestly, I’ve read your thoughts, you’re totally captivated with him!” Lily turned almost as red as her hair then she quickly calmed down and gave me a curious look.

“You’ve read my thoughts? As in literally or figuratively?”

“Literally,” I responded somewhat annoyed by the change of subject, “I’m excellent at both leglimency and occlumency.”

“Since when?!” Lily was amazed.

“Since oh, end of 4th year, or my first year of schooling.”

“Oh my God! That’s awesome, do you think you could teach me?”

“Yeah, Yeah. Sure, sure. Now when are you going to say yes to Potter?”

“How about never?” she responded.

“So that means next time he asks you to the Harvest Ball you’ll accept. Excellent.” I smiled at her and grabbed a piece of toast.

Lily’s POV

Richelle was immediately drawn into her toast and devoured it happily. She chugged her glass of milk and stood up. “Well, I’m off to visit with the locals, ta ta.” She tapped me on the shoulder as she ran off to sit at the Ravenclaw table next to…. Next to Matthew Stern?! The Ravenclaw prefect?! How? She just arrived yesterday! God, there’s that jealousy again. I rolled my eyes at myself. I’ve never been jealous before, no need to start now.

Sirius’ POV

God damn it. I stood up with the help of, oh, all the Gryffindor girls. They cursed her audacity and told me that they wouldn’t let her hurt me again.

“Ladies, ladies, I’m fine thank you for the help. I have to be going now. I’ll see you all around.” I walked as upright as I could over to James, Remus, and Peter, the only guys that hadn’t flocked out after Richelle.

“So how’d that feel, Sirius?” Remus obviously wasn’t happy that we had almost kissed, but the knee in my groin seemed to soothe him a bit.

“Like hell.”

“Oh come on Sirius, most guys would’ve killed just to be that close to her.” James said reassuringly. “If I wasn’t hooked on Evans, man, what I’d do…”

“Earth to James.” Remus hollered at James’ dazed look.

“Oh sorry. Come on lets get to breakfast.” James responded.
Ah breakfast, my favorite time of day. I walked through the doors and all female eyes were on me (and some envious and angry male eyes). Ah, the hard life. I began walking behind James who was walking towards Evans. Hey where’s Richelle? She came to breakfast with Lily. Grr….. there she was with Matthew Stern. The Ravenclaw prefect. He’s smiling at her! She’s talking animatedly with him and all surrounding Ravenclaws, guys and girls. Now they’re all laughing. God I want her.

Remus’ POV

Now they’re all laughing. I wonder what she said, probably something witty. Oh, apparently we’re all sitting down. I took one last glance at her and started to eat my eggs. Man, I wish I was the only one she paid attention to. Wait, what’s she doing… uh oh.

Richelle’s POV

“Well, ladies and gents I see I have you all in hysterics so I will take my leave before I says something offensive and turn this joy into angry glares. Adios mis amigos.”

I leaned down and whispered in Matthew’s ear, “And I’ll see you tonight at seven.” I stood up and walked towards the doors, yep it worked, by manipulating a certain Ravenclaw prefect (who I actually did like, I’m not just doing this because of… the meeting) I will not get in any trouble for being out well past curfew. You can always get what you want with a little flirting. Just as I stepped past the last table a boy with long white-blonde hair in a Slytherin robe stepped in front of me.

“Allow me to introduce myself, Lucius Malfoy.” He took my hand and kissed it.

“Richelle Bearotryvich. How may I help you?”

“Well,” his voice became slightly louder, “I was hoping you would join me for a romantic rendevous by the lake around seven this evening. Perhaps something to drink would appear and we could get to know each other.” He moved closer to me and gave a disgusting grin. The idiot.

“Well, I graciously decline your offer,” I said in a louder voice than he had used and gasps came from various places in the room, “I have a previous engagement first of all and second my dear, I am afraid you resemble a female far to much for me to be interested even slightly in you. However, perhaps we could do our nails together in two weeks before we meet our Hogsmeade dates?!” I said this last sentence in as valley girl a voice as I could muster.

“Why you…” I cut him off, “Mudblood? Halfblood? Nothing more creative? And besides I’m afraid you would be wrong my dear. I am a pureblood, and probably more dangerous than you, dear Mr. Malfoy.” I smacked his cheek good-humoredly.

“Oh really, than why haven’t you been to any of the parties this summer? Why don’t I know you?” He said cockily.

“I train during the summers, although I’m sure I’ll attend one this Christmas.” I responded in an equally cocky tone.

“I’ll see you there then.” He said somewhat defeated but nonetheless proudly. I know its bad to kick them when they’re down but hey, one for the road.

“Perhaps, maybe we can even shop for our dresses together, ha ha” I giggled like a valley girl when I walked passed him and flipped his blonde hair. He fumed. Then just as I passed Lucius another boy with dark hair that resembled Sirius stepped beside me. I was already happier with him for not blocking my path.

“Richelle Bearotryvich, and you are?” I said making the first introduction.

“Regulus Black.” He responded.

“Oh yes, Sirius’ brother. How do you do?” My voice was suddenly sweet, I knew the entire hall’s eyes were on me after my Lucius episode, most admiring eyes, some curious, all entranced. I certainly didn’t want to carry my hateful tone from Lucius throughout the day and decided to show that.

“I don’t like being associated with my bloodtraitor brother and I’m doing very well thank you.”

“No problem.” I started writing on my hand as if it were an imaginary notepad and mumbled, “No….bloodtraitor…brother.” I looked back up at Regulus who was slightly upset with my prior action, “Now what can I do for YOU?”

“Well, I was hoping I could speak with you after dinner this evening, perhaps go on a walk. I’ll have you back before seven for your engagement.”

“Why I would be honored. Are you a year younger than Sirius?” I asked out of curiosity.

“I’m Sirius’ twin brother, younger by a few minutes. Seventeen if you wanted an age, Eighteen November 1st.”

“Thank you for answering my questions so thoroughly and I will meet you outside these doors at 5:30. Good day.” I smiled and touched his shoulder gently as I walked to my first class. Potions with the Hufflepuffs. Sweet.

James’ POV

“Damn, that was awesome!” I said.

“Sure was.” Remus responded.

“So Lily wanna go to the Harvest Ball with me, I know its early to ask, but”

“Yes, James, I will.” “What? You mean, YES!” I jumped up from the table and performed a victory dance. “Wait, is this some sick joke?” I asked skeptically.

“No, I was speaking with Richelle and well…”

“Aw man I love that girl. Biz is my new best friend, Padfoot you’ve been replaced.” I beamed and began eating this day was great! I see Lucius told off in front off the school, Sirius finally get busted for makin’ moves on every girl in school, and Lily says yes. I love that girl. Biz, I think we need to become much better friends.

Sirius’ POV

More dangerous? I don’t like the sound of that. I had just entered the potions classroom and Richelle was already seated beside Hunter Collins – a Hufflepuff prefect. She certainly doesn’t waste her time with guys at the bottom of the ladder, does she? I asked myself. Professor Slughorn entered the room welcomed Richelle and began asking us questions about some potion called Ennyl’s Elixir.

“Who can tell me something about this elixir?” he asked. Richelle raised her hand. He pointed to her.

“First of all the elixir guarantees the drinker an enhanced immunity system. The potion is mostly used for those traveling to disease ridden countries. Mostly third-world countries. Second it takes two weeks to complete and the drinker cannot be in contact with any alcoholic drinks for those two weeks. Otherwise the potion is immediately rendered useless. The potion can be made in large portions it is not a person-sensitive elixir, anyone can drink it once it has been made.”

“Excellent ten points to Gryffindor.” He smiled at her.

His next question was, “What is the key ingredient in Ennyl’s elixir? Yes, Mrs. Evans?”

“The key ingredient is salt-soaked parsley.”

“No, Mrs. Evans I’m sorry that is incorrect.” Lily looked devastated as half the class ast shocked and Biz raised her hand again.

“The key ingredient is salt-soaked parsnip. If parsley is used instead the elixir becomes deadly, also known as Mortum Excriatum. The drinker is immediately covered in deadly lacerations which grow and bleed non-stop. The pain is excruciating and the only cure is rattlesnake venom which makes the sufferer ill for 4 days. If the drinker survives those 4 days he/she will live, but rarely do people survive those four days.” The entire class gazed at Richelle in disbelief. Professor Slughorn was speechless.

“That is correct, but I would like to know how you know such details of so seldomly used and seldomly spoken of a potion.”

“Oh, you pick things up here and there.” She smiled to him reassuringly “So when can we begin?” She asked the Professor encouraging a change of topic.

“Oh, you may begin now.” James and I were working together, everyone was beginning to get over Biz’s little evil super-genius episode. Richelle was chatting energetically to everyone in the room. Currently she was throwing out some amusing stories from her world travels. And class was over. I packed my bag and headed out the door.

“Hey Sirius.” It was Richelle.

“Oh hey, what’re you up to?”

“Going to class, yourself?” she said playing along with my distracted stupid questions.

“Oh sorry, same. I’m out of it today. So, nice show in class today.”

“Well, I do my best. Where’re the others?”

“Oh, ran ahead. Gotta get good seat for transfiguration ya know.”

“Um, yeah sure.” She said reading my sarcasm and grinning. “More like, gotta get a good seat next to Evans.” She responded.

“You know it.” We entered the room and took seats next to each other. That’s how the rest of the day went. Enter class, be amazed by Richelle, or amused, leave class. Repeat.

Chapter 3: Ty!
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Regulus’ POV

Where is she? It’s 5:35, she wouldn’t be late. Oh, there she is!

“Hey, yeah I know I’m five minutes late, but dinner was just so delicious. So what did you wanna ask me?” She smiled. Such straight, white teeth, such red lips.

“Oh, um, do you wanna go to the Harvest Ball with me?”

“Oh, I’m sorry Regulus. A friend of mine from Durmstrang is going to visit me and be my date.”

“Oh, ok” I responded, quite downtrodden.

“But ya know, we could always go to Hogsmeade or something together.”

“Definitely! I have a date for two weekends from now, but how about in October?”

“Sheesh, I don’t usually make dates this far in advance, but for you, why not?” Yes! She said yes!

“So how about that walk?”

“Um, no sorry Regulus, I’m not really in the mood. Maybe next week, sorry.” She shrugged and gave an apologetic look before leaning up and kissing the corner of my mouth. She was aiming for my cheek but well I didn’t just want a kiss on the cheek, I just missed my target of her mouth.

“See ya” she hollered back as she left for the Gryffindor staircase.

Richelle’s POV

Yeah, I don’t really feel like hanging out with that Ravenclaw tonight. So I don’t show up for a meeting, he gets mad, he gets over it. Maybe I’ll send Jewel to give him a note. Sure why not. I went to my dorm wrote two notes (one for the prefect and for him) and gave it to Jewel to fly to them. I apologized and explained I wasn’t feeling well, but would make it up to his prefectness in a few weeks. He wrote back wishing me well and bidding me goodnight. Gotta love Ravenclaws, always so thoughtful I thought as I walked down the staircase to the common room.

“Except when concerning public displays of affection.” I said loudly towards the couch, which was covered by Sirius’ and Janice’s bodies. They both sat bolt upright and quickly fixed themselves. Sirius bid her goodnight and she left the common room quickly. All the students who had been doing homework, talking or trying to read applauded me and relaxed when the kissing and groping had stopped. I took a sweeping bow and sat down in the middle of the couch. I put my feet up on the table and turned to the Marauders who had gathered around the table in front of the couch.

“So, you infamous Marauders gunna do any good pranking before I’m in a walker. Cause right about now I’m thinkin’ you’re all talk no walk.” James and Sirius looked quite offended.

In no time I was proven wrong and the Marauders were showing off one prank after another. And so, the days went by rather lazily until the Harvest Ball rolled around. And man, was I excited.

Lily’s POV

“Come on let’s go, let’s go! Hogsmeade!” I pulled Biz and my friend Sarah out of bed, “Come on!”

“Ya know, for someone who hates James Potter, you’re sure in a hurry to impress him.” Biz said lazily rolling out of bed and walking to the shower.

“Just hurry up!” I hollered after her. Sarah got up and went to shower as well. Biz came out and got dressed in a pair of low jeans with a green belt and a green American Red Cross Give Blood t-shirt. She pulled on her regular jewelry and a pair of sandals.

“Alright, I’m ready. Let’s get this party started!” Sarah and I quickly finished dressing and followed Biz out to Hogsmeade. She met up with the Marauders who were going to get outfits for the ball as well.

“So Biz,” James asked, “Who are you going to the ball with?” He slung his arm in a brotherly manner over her shoulder. The two had become excellent friends. On occasion I envied the relationship thinking it was more, then I came back to reality, of course it wasn’t more, he liked me and this was Biz we were talkin’ about!

“You’ll see him at the ball, won’t you?” Biz responded.

“True, but I would rather know now.” James smiled and tried to persuade her. However Biz stuck resolutely with a no.

“Who are you going with Remus?” Biz asked changing the subject.

“Amy Saunders from Ravenclaw. We’re just going as friends though. I really didn’t want to have to be all interested in her all evening when I’m really not.”

“My goodness Remus, that’s not very gentlemanly of you, although I respect the honesty. So since you’re only going as friends you’re saving me 2 or 3 dances aren’t you?”

Remus nodded, “Of course, Biz, of course.”

“So Sirius, Peter, who are you two going with? Each other?”

Sirius glared at her, “No, I’m going with that hot 5th year in Gryffindor, Margaret, no Melinda, no, Mary, that’s her name, Mary Klien. Oh and Peter here is going stag.”

“Mary, Mary, quite contrary how does your garden grow? With silver bells and cockle shells and pretty maids all in a row.” Biz repeated back. “I don’t know, guess I’ve never been fond of the name Mary,” Sirius glared while Biz shrugged happily.

Peter however piped up, “What does that mean, it sounds nice.”

“Peter, Peter, Peter. The Mary referred to is Bloody Mary, wife of King Henry the VIII. The garden really means graveyards, which increased in size as Protestants were killed because of Mary’s devout Catholicism. Silver bells and cockle shells were nicknames for instruments of torture and the pretty “maids” all in a row were a device similar to a guillotine which beheaded people.” Gee Biz, way to have a bunch of useless information floating about in your head. Interesting, but useless. I shook my head in mock shame of her random information and Biz laughed lightly.

“Yikes,” Peter said, “You sure you wanna go with her, mate?”

“Shut up, Peter.” Sirius responded testily.

“We’re here!” I shouted. “Come on, girls. Guys we’ll meet you at the Three Broomsticks in 3 hours.”

“3 hours?!” James hollered at me as I ran off.

“Yes! You want me to look fantastic don’t you?” I said before running out of earshot of him and darting into the finest apparel store in Hogsmeade.

Richelle’s POV

“You guys done yet?!” I bellowed to the dressing room doors. Nothing like talking to a wall.

“Yes!” Lily said back. “Look!” She stepped out of the dressing room and was absolutely gorgeous. It was a dark green dress that went to her mid lower leg. It flared somewhat from her lower hips down and the top was a halter.

”You look great!” I said.

“Good, this is the one I’m buying. Sarah!”

“Okay, I’m coming!” Sarah stepped out and was in a beautiful bright red dress that went to the floor with a slit up to her knee, it tied around her neck.

“Perfect, get it so we can go!” I said impatiently.

“Well where’s your dress?” Lily asked while purchasing her own.

“In here,” I showed her an all black bag, “I ordered it in August. You’ll see it in a week.” I grinned, knowing she would be driven mad with curiosity.

But she bit her tongue and replied with a simple, “I can’t wait!”

So off we went to the Three Broomsticks. Time went by quickly and before I knew it the Harvest Ball was here!

We were all dressing quickly and taking all the time in the world to do our hair and make-up. I in contrast did my hair and make-up first then put on my dress. I walked out of the bathroom where I had been getting ready and the girls were all done up. They looked great and I could hardly contain myself. “Come on! The guys are expecting us! Let’s go!” I started walking to the door.

Lily’s POV

Wow! Biz walked out of the door and my jaw dropped. Her hair was up in a neat bun with hair sticking out in a windmill shape stick-straight and she had two thick tresses of hair framing her face. She wore elegant silver and black jewelry and her dress… Wow. It went just above her knees and was loose and flared from mid-hip down. It was a dark burgundy with a thin sheer material working as shoulder straps. When she walked past us I saw the back of her dress was all ties from her (very) low back up. She wore gorgeous matching shoes that added two maybe three inches to her height. She looked awesome!

I felt a little insecure until while we were walking down the staircase she leaned over to me and whispered, “You’ll blow him out of the water.” She then gave me a smile and allowed me and the other girls to head through the narrowing bottom of the staircase.

James’ POV

I heard the girls’ dorm door open and close. All of us, Sirius, me, Remus (who was already with his date), Peter, and some random guy I had never met before looked up from where we were. I stood up from the couch and walked over to the staircase. Lily came down first. Oh…my…God. She was always beautiful to me, but right this moment she was phenomenal, radiant, superb… indescribable. Sarah came down next, she cleaned up very nice if you ask me. Sarah went ahead and walked over to her date who was standing by the fire. I now had my arm around Lily’s waist as Biz came down.

Holy cow…

Sirius’ POV

Wow… Richelle came down the stairs her dark burgundy dress playing happily about her knees. She reached the bottom of the staircase and looked around.

“Ty!” She ran (which I thought was quite a feat in those shoes) over to this guy who was leaning by the portrait hole. I guess he looked okay, I don’t know. She jumped up into his arms and he spun her around a huge smile on his face.

“My Richelle!” He set her down and held her hands. “You look even better than when I last saw you.”

She smiled back at him and responded, “And you look… well you look the way you did when I left you. Letting yourself go a bit?” She smirked playfully and tapped his stomach.

He gave her a playful condescending look and responded, “You must be kidding me,” and slid her hands from the front of his stomach to his back and gave her a long kiss. The green monster seethed in me and I wanted to rip his head off.

When the kiss was over she smiled at him then turned to the rest of us, “Well, let’s go! I have to see what a Hogwarts party is like!”

Richelle was jabbering on with Ty abut everything that had happened so far this school year and would intermittently pull the rest of us into the conversation. I wasn’t really paying attention. I was conceiving a plan to hang “Ty” from the ceiling of the Owlery by his toenails. My mind calmed slightly as we neared the Great Hall and I heard some good ol’ Four Fat Hogs songs drifting through the doors. Haha, Mary was in there waiting for me; I bet she looks great. I hope so at least.
