Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Reunited Again

Chapter 12: Reunited Again

The next few days past by quickly. Lily was making a good recovering and she had taken to walking around the gardens with James. She loved his house. When she began to get some of her old strength back James brought her on a tour of the entire house. It was HUGE! There were so many rooms in it she lost count after the first ten. Each room was completely different. They all had their own different style or design and all of them came with their own bathroom. She was completely amazed by it. She knew James was wealthy, but she didn’t know he was THIS rich!

Her favourite room of all was the room at the very top of the house, called the Mood Room. When you walked into it, it changed to whatever colour suited the mood you were in at the time. Usually she and James would go up there at night and look at the stars. She loved to look at the sky. It was the most beautiful thing in the world to her. She especially loved it at night. She and James would go up when it got dark, sit on the white sofa that was at the window together, wrap themselves in a blanket and talk or just look at the stars. She loved doing this. She felt like, when she was up there with James, all her problems and worries just disappeared. Nothing mattered once the two of them were there together. It had become kind of a ritual for them to go up there. No one every bothered them. They were free to be together, without anyone around them.

This morning Lily and James were walking through the garden hand in hand. The grounds around Potter Manor where even bigger and more remarkable than the house. Lily liked to walk through the grass, picking the flowers along the way. She still hadn’t gotten all the way around them. But James assured her it would take a lot longer than a week to fully explore all the grounds. Still, it didn’t stop her from dragging him out every day to try.

She thought back over everything that happened in the last few days. It had been hard to get up every day knowing what happened. Every morning before she opened her eyes she wished that it had all been a dream, but then she would open her eyes to find herself in the beautiful room the Potters had set aside for her and sigh. It really had happened.

James had really helped her to deal with it though. He still wouldn’t leave her at night. He would stay there because he knew she needed comfort to stop what happened from haunting her while she slept. He would come in about half an hour after she left him, go over to her bed and sit in the chair beside it. But then she would pull the covers off her and tell him to get in, which he did. He would lie beside her and hold her as she drifted off into a peaceful sleep. He knew his parents already knew what he was doing, but that they trusted him and Lily. James never thought about doing anything. He just wanted to be there to comfort her, and that is exactly what he did.

Lily remembered as different people stopped by Potter Manor over the last three days. Different people from the Ministry, Aurors and people from a secret society called the Order of the Phoenix called regularly. James and Lily didn’t know much about the Order. The only thing they knew was that they were fighting against Voldemort. Lily swore that if Voldemort was still at large when she finished school she would join. James agreed fully with this plan when she mentioned it to him. They agreed to join together.

Tomorrow was the day Sirius, Remus, Alice and Jo were due to come. Lily was excited about seeing her friends again. She was starting to miss them. After all, if they weren’t there she had no one to talk to about James! The only bad thing about them coming was that her and James alone time would be limited. Even though they had only been together three days, Lily was getting to know so much about James that she never knew before. And he was the same with her. With every passing day they were falling more in love with each other. They could be together and not have to talk, like now. They were just walking together in complete silence, each deep in thought. But they had other things to do aswell. They didn’t just talk or walk in silence all the time.

James looked over at Lily to see a smile playing on her lips. He tried not to smile too. He was glad she was getting back to herself. She still cried everyday, which he expected. But those outburst of tears were few now. She was starting to get her own strength back aswell. She was able to walk without too much difficultly. Most importantly, he thought, was that she was sleeping. He made sure of this as he stayed with her every night. He was happy that what happened didn’t cause Lily to close off to people. He enjoyed their last three days together. He watched her closely to make sure she was ok, but they were still able to have a good time.

He looked down as he felt a pull on in his. He turned to see that Lily had stopped behind him, her grin growing bigger.

“What is wrong Lils?” he asked but not in a concerned way, more in a curious way.

She just pulled him closer to her and kissed him out of no where. James pulled her against him and wrapped one arm around her waist and ran the other one through her long hair, kissing her back. She put both her hands at the back of his head and played with the hair at the nape of his neck, sending shivers down his spine. When they broke apart several minutes later he looked down at her grinning widely.

“What was that for?” he asked

“What? I’m not allowed to kiss my boyfriend?”

“Of course you are,” he answered smiling at her. “You just surprised me.”

Lily grinned triumphantly. She loved to catch James off guard. She knew she could make his knees weak when she did and she enjoyed it as he struggled to stay upright by holding onto her tightly.

“I know,” she laughed. “It was great!”

James suddenly lifted her up and spun her around in a circle, holding on tightly to her.

“James! Put me down right now,” she said

“No. I don’t think I will. Unless you make it worth my while,” he answered laughing at her.

“James Harry Potter! You put me down this instant!” she shouted hitting him repeatedly on the shoulder.

“Nope,” he laughed

“And why not?” she asked loudly still hitting him.

“Well for one I am enjoying this immensely. For another, hitting me is going to make me put you down. And lastly, I told you, you have to make it worth my while,”

“And how could I do that?” she asked smiling charmingly at him.

“That’s up to you. Be creative,” he said before swinging her around again to stop her from hitting him again. She really was quite strong, especially for her size.

When he stopped swinging her she leaned in and kissed him fiercely on the lips. She started to play with his hair again and she could feel his knees go weak before they both fell to the ground laughing. Luckily for Lily, she landed on James instead of the ground. James didn’t seem to happy about the landing. Lily continued to laugh.

“I thought I said be creative. You know what happens when you do that,” he said

“Exactly. I knew it was going to be effective. So I win!” she said happily. James tried to get up but she pushed him back down.

“Where do you think you’re going Potter?” she asked. “I won, now you have to make it up to me.”

James grinned at her. Then he reached up and brought her lips down to meet his. They broke apart and Lily smiled.

“Um….I think you need to work on your rewards,” she said laughing at him. “Oh James, I love you so much.”

“I love you too Lils,” he said before kissing her again. As they deepened the kiss they heard a shout from behind them.

“HEY YOU TWO, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?”

James and Lily sat up fast as they saw four people approach them.

“LILY!” two of them yelled, running towards Lily and throwing their arms around her.

“Alice? Jo? What are you doing here? I thought you were coming tomorrow?” Lily asked looking at her friends. She was so glad to see them again, she had missed them.

“Dumbledore let us come a day early because Alice was driving him up the wall asking him questions every time she saw him and going to his office all the time. The poor man!” smiled Jo, looking at Lily. She seemed genuinely happy. She could still see some of the grief in her eyes, but she was recovering.

“So, what is going on here? First time you two were lying in a bed, now you’re lying on top of one another. Will someone please explain?” asked Sirius

Lily just laughed but James answered.

“Well, if you didn’t come barging in at inopportune moments Padfoot, there may be something to tell,”

“Well then it is a good thing I have such marvelous timing, isn’t it?”

Lily rolled her eyes, but she was glad to have all her friends around her again. “So how are things at Hogwarts?” she asked

Alice, Jo, Sirius and Remus looked at each other. Over the last few days the news of what happened at Lily’s house had gotten around. The Daily Prophet reported on the attack and there were now rumours going around Hogwarts about why Lily wasn’t here. Not all of them were good, or even nice. Many people claimed she was in Azkaban because she was really a Death Eater and sold her family to Voldemort. Jo and Sirius had each been given a weeks worth of detentions for hexing a group of students who were saying Lily was in St Mungos in a criminally insane ward.

“They are fine. Nothing too big. Next term starts in a few days so mostly people are catching up on the homework they neglected to do earlier. So what has been going on here? Anything interesting?” asked Remus, quickly changing the subject from Hogwarts. He didn’t want Lily to hear any of those rumours if he could help it. It would be hard enough for her to come back to school without things like that being said about her.

“Not really, things have been pretty quiet. Lots of different people dropping in to visit my parents, but nothing special,” answered James.

Alice then turned to Lily. “So you finally opened your eyes Lily?” she asked looking from her to James and back. Lily blushed. She knew it wouldn’t be long before her friends began to question her, but she would rather they do it when James wasn’t beside her. All she could do was nod.

Alice and Jo started to roll around the grass laughing.

“What is so funny?” asked James looking at Lily who was blushing furiously.

“Oh nothing. But I seem to remember having a certain conversation with a certain red-head about how she should open her eyes to a certain black haired Head Boy,” said Jo laughing.

“Oh really?” said James looking again at Lily with his eyebrow raised.

“What? It was when you were still an arrogant prick,” she said

“Wh-“

“She has you there mate. You were a prick. And an idiot, and a fool, and a git, and completely clueless. Face it Prongs, it is who you are. Or were. Or….Oh well I’m confused. You two are the most confusing and stubborn pair I have ever met. And NOW you are together? This is going to be a very long year,” sighed Sirius. Everyone started laughing at him. They stayed there for hours talking, laughing, joking and occasionally hitting Sirius. As it should be. They were all happy to be reunited again.

A/N: There wasn't really much of a point to that chapter either, I just need to have something to fill in the gaps between the big parts! It was mainly just to describe James' house, show James and Lily's relationship growing and bring everyone back together. Hope you liked it! Please review and tell me weither you did or not! Thank you so much! Extra extra thanks to everyone who has reviewed already! I love reading them! Please keep doing so! = )
