Much appreciation goes to my friend Shannon (hermione_smarts12345) for this banner!

Hermione is with Draco but she isn't living a happy lifestyle. She's abused by him. Trying hard to avoid him, she hangs around her only friend, Harry. He catches onto what's happening. What will happen when Hermione tells him and he confronts Draco? Based on the song Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Please review and tell me how I did on my first one-shot! Thank sooo much!

Chapter 1: Sad Beginnings, Happy Endings

A/N: Alrighty! This is my first song fic so bare with me. I've never even written a one-shot. If this was bad, please review and tell what I did wrong so that I can better myself in the future. If it was good, please still review! I love getting reviews! Okay, on with the story! Enjoy Face Down! :D

Hermione had forgiven Draco for all the nasty things he had said and done to her and her friends. They had been friends for a short while after Hogwarts. Draco then told Hermione that he loved her and they decided to become a couple. They lived together in a small country house. She had everything she could want; love, a lovely house, a private library and so much more. So why wasn’t she happy? Because of him.

Hey girl, you know you drive me crazy
one look puts the rhythm in my hand.
Still I'll never understand why you hang around
I see what's going down.

Harry was still a good friend to Hermione. They spent a lot of time together, almost every time without Draco. Harry found this to be strange. Hermione loved Draco, why wouldn’t she want to spend time with him? The more and more they hung out together though, the more Harry seemed to know what was going on. Harry knew that he shouldn’t intervene, no matter how much he still loved Hermione.

Cover up with make up in the mirror
tell yourself, it's never gonna happen again
you cry alone and then he swears he loves you.

Hermione stood in the bathroom, applying make up around her bruised eye. Then she walked to her closet and picked out a long sleeved shirt to cover up the bruises on her arms. She knew that it was much too hot to wear it but they needed to be hidden. They would be gone soon but until then they will be covered. No more would be there afterwards anyway. ‘He won’t do this again. He only did it this time because I made a mistake. He’ll stop.’

Tears ran silently down her cheek as she thought about his fists coming down and pounding her arms as she yelled for him to stop and that she was sorry. She heard a creak and she looked up at the door. He stood there, looking at her concerned. “What’s wrong, Hermione?” He walked over and sat next to her.

“Nothing, Draco. I’m fine.” Hermione said as she avoided looking at him.

“Alright. I love you. Don’t ever forget that.” He put his hand under her chin and turned her face to face him.

“I know. I won’t.”

“Well, don’t you love me too?”

“Yes, I love you too.” It pained Hermione to say those three words because she knew that deep down in her heart she did but the abuse she had been enduring was making her love for him dissolve more and more each day.

Do you feel like a man when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has found

He kissed her passionately. She did not object and she kissed him back. Soon, tears were again coming from her eyes. Draco pulled away and looked at her angrily. He said, “What the hell are you crying about this time? You should be happy that I’m even talking to you!” Draco’s hand hit her face hard and she fell backward and onto the floor. She sat there on the floor holding her warm cheek. Draco’s footsteps echoed through the house as he left the room.

Hermione got up and looked into the mirror. Her bruised eye was visible again and now she had a red, puffy cheek. She put more make up onto her eye and then snuck out of the house to go meet Harry.

When she got to the Three Broomsticks she found him sitting alone at a table near the back. She walked over and sat down. He smiled at her and said, “I’m glad you came, Hermione,” his smiled faded. “I need to ask you something. I need you to answer with the complete truth.” She nodded and he asked, “What is Draco doing to you. I know you try to hide them but I can see your bruises.”

Hermione just sat there for a second, staring at Harry. Finally she decided that he should know. She told him all about the fights they’ve gotten into and what he did to her when he was angry. She ended her stories with what had happened just before she arrived there. Harry listened intently and when she finished he looked very upset. “Hermione, why didn’t you tell anyone about this? Someone other than me should really know.”

“No, Harry! No one else needs to know! It’s not that bad. It’s going to end soon. I know it.” Hermione smiled.

Harry sighed. “Fine. I won’t tell anyone. Even though I really should! Let’s order some drinks and then go for a walk. Sound good?” Hermione nodded.

A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect
every action in this world will bear a consequence
If you wade around forever you will surely drown
I see what's going down.

That night Harry sat on his couch wondering what might be happening to Hermione right now. Was Draco hurting her again? Something needed to happen. What he was doing to her was wrong and it needed to end. Now. Tomorrow he would go pick Hermione up, instead of her sneaking out. Then he’ll deal with Draco.

The next morning he woke up and remembered his plan for today. He apparated to her house and stood in front of the door. He knocked softly and heard footsteps coming. The door opened and Hermione’s eyes widened.

“Harry! What the bloody hell are you doing here? You need to leave before Draco sees you! Hurry! I think he’s coming.”

“That’s alright, Hermione. He’s just the person I came to see.” Harry pushed the door open and stepped in. Draco was coming down the hall, reading a letter. He looked up and looked back down at his letter, going into a room on his right. Then he froze in the doorway and looked back down the hall to see Harry standing next to Hermione watching him.

“Potter! Who do you think you are coming into my house? I want you out right now! Hermione, show your friend to the door.” Hermione stood still. She couldn’t force Harry to leave. He was her best friend. “Hey, bitch! I told you to do something. Get to it!” Draco started to walk toward Hermione. Harry stepped in front of her.

“You stay the hell away from her, Malfoy. What you’re doing to her is a pointless sport to you and it’s wrong! You’re not touching one damn part of her! I won’t let you!” Harry held Hermione behind him as he stared into Draco’s eyes.

I see the way you go and say you're right again,
say you're right again
heed my lecture

Draco smiled and said, “You have no right to tell me what I can and can’t do to my girlfriend. Back off. Go save someone, I know that’s your favorite sport. Always being the hero.”

“I am saving someone. I’m saving my best friend from the asshole that is her boyfriend.”

Do you feel like a man when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has found.

Draco punched Harry in the face. He stumble backward and Hermione fell to the ground. Harry looked at Draco, holding his face. He was smirking. “What? Do you feel big and strong when you hurt her? Does it bring you some kind of pleasure when she falls down? Well, one day she’ll find a new life. A happy life. A life where she isn’t thrown around like a rag doll. You’re a sick man, Malfoy. You shouldn’t live.”

Face down in the dirt, she said,
this doesn't hurt, she said,
I finally had enough.

One day she will tell you that she has had enough
it's coming round again.

Harry quickly pulled out his wand and yelled, “Avada Kedavra”. A blast of green light came out from the end of it. It hit Draco directly in the heart. He fell to the floor with a soft thud. Hermione looked at his lifeless body and a tear ran down her cheek. Harry helped her up from the floor and held her in his arms as she cried.

“He doesn’t deserve your tears, Hermione. I know you loved him but he hurt you and you, in no way, need to be treated like that.” Harry said as he stroked her hair.

“I know. But I did love him. Thank you for saving me, Harry.” Hermione looked up and smiled at him. He smiled back.

“Of course. I love you, Hermione.” She stared at him and then said, “I love you too, Harry.” He leaned down and pressed his lips softly against hers. Hermione soaked in his love and took this as a start to a new life with Harry.
