Hi there!
I was thinking we could have a new featured list and maybe story of the month (for stories on hpff like last time) and other challenges the old site used to have. And maybe resume the Dobby awards because it can’t be HPFF without the Dobbys am I right?? Really appreciative of everything you goes have done with the site so far!

Hey! I wasn't around for the old forums but I am aware of some of the content, and I am the admin here now. I have fanfic recommendations of the month and writing prompts of the month now - they're under Muggle Studies. Is that what you're looking for? If not, let me know and I'll get something more geared towards what you're looking for!

Yes you got it, I kind of included suggestions before I fully perused the site. Will you guys be updating the featured fic lists as well? The ones that are up might be from before the site went down if I’m not mistaken?

I strongly recommend having a section where people can offer to make cover arts. That was one of the things that helped me feel like a real member of the forums back in the day, because it was a way for artists to participate and I was helping show off their work with my stories. Also, since the cover art seems to be a different size than it used to be, a lot of people might not have that size already!

Aww, I understand why everyone is a 'new member' but I was a little disappointed to see that, since my stuff survived the purge and I have been a member since the mid 2000's. I guess it's not fair to reward people for somehow surviving their stuff being deleted since that was completely arbitrary, as far as I know! Anyway, thanks for bringing it back!

I love the suggestion to change people's "membership date" based on how old their account is. We're going to work on this - your forum "membership date" should be the same age as your HPFF account. Eventually, we'll merge these accounts into one so you have the same profile for the forums and for your writing/HPFF.

Please keep sending us ideas and feedback! We love it :)

I'm creating an entire thread for graphics now, there will be several sub-threads so these can get the attention they deserve. Thank you for the suggestion.

I love the positive changes so far! I've already spoken to Ronnie via email about the changes to add covers to stories. I'm very much looking forward to that! Great job to everyone on the team!

Fantastic. I know we're working on graphics and making sure our artists have a place here as well as our writers. Excited to see all the new things we'll have for everyone, soon.

Hello! Looks like you've been doing a lot of hard work to get the site running, and that's appreciated.
I'm not sure if this is just me, but I'm not able to edit chapters. When I try to save an edit it says "Potential XSS Attack" ?

Hi there! This is usually because there is a script for an image or something like it in the post. We'll look into your specific case to see if we can fix it.

Fanfiction.net was hacked using XSS attacks in their story posting so we took preventive measures to protect our users. Unfortunately that meant some users may have issues editing until we identify every "safe" script to run in a post.

I love that you're taking security so seriously.

I love the new site but there are a couple of things I miss from the old site!

  • the dobby awards
  • a 'to read' list and a 'currently reading' list that you could save fanfiction to. On the 'currently reading' list, it would let you know when the fics had last updated.
Thank you for everything that you are doing!

Thank you! The Dobbys will be making a return soon :) Along with a redesign of the homepage

I have a new suggestion, but this might only be useful for old timers like me. I have quite a few unanswered reviews... but they're from 2013 or beforehand. I don't know if I should respond to them now given that the people who left them probably don't really care, six years later? This is what I get for going on Harry Potter fandom hiatus for 8 years!

Now don't get me wrong, I ADORE the 'unanswered reviews' thing. I think it's a unique part of what makes this particular archive special. But I feel guilty that I have so many, while at the same time I don't want to spam the people who left those reviews with responses after all this time. So maybe a 'read' checkbox could be in order?
