She didn’t need someone to help her hold on. She didn’t want to hold on, it hurt too much. She didn’t someone to insist that everything was okay. When it clearly wasn’t.
I sat down next to her and nodded.
“Okay.” I whispered and I held her as she sobbed into my chest.
