Author’s Note:
So at the end of this chapter there is a tremendously long author’s note describing why I paired them up accordingly. It’s not necessary to read the note, but it’s there if you’re in interested as to why I paired them up in this fashion. Oh and before anyone starts to wonder, this is no slash. I repeat; this is no slash! (Though I have nothing against slashes, I just don’t want anyone to misinterpret.)  And before anyone gets eager for chapter seven, I must say, chapter seven won’t be up and running until another few weeks at most. I’m planning onto revamping the first five chapters, after re-reading them, I flinched a few times, so I’m going to go ahead and make a few clean-ups.
Happy reading, I hope ya’ll enjoy!

“Professor Dumbledore, you wanted to see us?” Lily asked softly, as the students formed a semi-circle around the elder man’s desk. Dumbledore, who was busy writing a letter, looked up from his half-moon spectacles and smiled.

“Ah, yes. About that, I’ve asked you all to join me this morning to ensure the academic success of our new students.” Dumbledore said. There was a confused silence. Patiently sighing, Dumbledore stood up and began to pace around his office, his hands behind his back, deep in thought.

“You see, each year, curriculum only builds up upon the previous year. As the years progress, your knowledge of past curriculums is vital for your success in your classes. The past of course, is always the backbone, the foundation, of what happens in the present and future. Thus, the saying is very much relevant with our new students’ learning.” When he turned to face the students, he saw that they all still wore the same blank expressions, except for Lily, whose face was dawned upon with new light.

“So you need us,” Lily began, staring quickly at Snape, Remus, Peter, James and Sirius. “To tutor them,” She turned to face Loki, Thor, Steve, Natasha, Bruce, Clint, and Tony.

“Precisely, Ms. Evans,” Dumbledore nodded. “However, that is, if you agree to this assignment. If you chose you are much too busy for this task, please do tell. I don’t mind finding a more than willing student to help. I am much aware of the busy schedules you all keep.” Dumbledore said, eying them all with his bright, twinkling blue eyes. When no one spoke up, he beamed at them all.

“Marvelous!” And he began to pace around his classroom again. “Now, before I continue, perhaps we should all agree on the classes you will be willing to drop for your tutor sessions?”

“Divination, 5th period!” James, and Sirius, spoke out quickly at the same time. Peter merely squeaked ‘Divination’ upon realizing what his friends had requested.

“I can drop Ancient Studies.” Lily nodded confidently.

“Ancient Runes is fine.” Remus shrugged. “I don’t mind dropping that.”

“So I suppose you all are willing to drop your 5th period electives and extra-curricular subjects, I see? Well, there’s nothing wrong with that.” Dumbledore smiled and turned to Snape. “And what say you, Severus. What may your 5th period be?”

Snape frowned. “I actually have Alchemy, sir.” Snape said slowly, drawing out the ends of every word, dramatically pausing after every other word. “But I really wouldn’t mind, if it’s that important.”

“And what about you lot? May I ask what that subject you have 5th period?” Dumbledore turned the future mentees expectantly.

“I have Ancient Runes with Remus,” Steve spoke up, Clint nodding his head as well.

“Tony and I have Alchemy.” Bruce intervened, both of them receiving a disgusted look from Snape. Tony sneered at the greasy, black haired boy.

“I have Arithmancy.” Natasha pitched in.

“I, myself, have Ghoul studies, whatever that is.” Thor said, a clueless look engraved on his face while Loki snorted.

“And are you willing to sacrifice that class for your tutor sessions?” Dumbledore asked.

“I suppose so. Anything to get us caught up where we ought to be, I guess.” Tony shrugged, voicing everyone else’s’ thoughts. Dumbledore nodded his head, a signal of acknowledgement, before turning to face Loki.

“And how about you Mister Laufeyson, what class?”

“Erm, I have Astronomy, sir.” Loki said. “But I wouldn’t mind dropping it. Where I come from, they teach us loads about the stars and such while we are young.”

“Excellent!” Exclaimed Dumbledore. “Now, I would like you all to have the leniency on your decisions, so if you like, you can go ahead and pair up at your choice.” Dumbledore said, returning behind his desk and continued working on his letter, as if nothing was going on.

Snape and Loki were the first to pair up, seeing that they were already best buds and got along fairly well. Sirius was also brief with finding his mentee, for he and Thor locked eyes at once and nodded. As for Natasha, she walked over to Lily, grinning. Perhaps Lily could be her first female friend here, seeing as Narcissa was going to be a complete snob about everything.

“Oi, Tony! Fancy being my mentee?”  James asked, but Tony didn’t need to answer because he was already walking towards James.

“Thought you’d never ask, Potter!” Tony grinned back as James thumped him hard on the back.

As for Remus, he watched as shy Bruce stood there confused, not knowing where to go. For a moment, Bruce caught Remus’ eye and stared, rocking awkwardly on his feet. Lupin didn’t need another signal. He understood how Bruce felt. And for a second, Remus could empathize with him. Walking over with his hands in his pockets, Remus stood beside the mentally tormented Bruce.

“Want to be my mentee?” Remus asked, scratching the back of his neck. Bruce’s face, once strained, lit up like a candle at the request. Turning around, Remus saw that Tony sent him a look of gratitude. He, of course, understood. Tony was like Bruce’s big brother. He was looking out for him and it was comfort to know that Remus had taken the shy boy under his wing.

As for Steve, he looked to find Peter gawking at him hopefully. It bothered him that Peter didn’t say anything. He just stared. It was like Phil Coulson all over again. Only the memory of Phil being dead was painful. He remembered their first conversation. It was about Phil watching him as they revived him from the ice. Phil Coulson, the little fan boy…And here was Peter, looking up at him with marvel, still too shy to say anything, only he didn’t know why. Peter didn’t know him, so why was he gawking over him?

Damn, I wonder if Phil was Peter’s reincarnation… Steve thought, as he turned his head to find Peter still standing there, twitching anxiously.

“Hey, Peter. Tutor buddies?” Steve asked, feeling his face redden. This was awkward. Way too awkward. It wasn’t that he didn’t like Peter. Peter was okay, but Steve just didn’t warm up to him like the others. And while Peter began to happily gush yes, he caught Snape, Sirius and James sniggering with their mentees while Lily and Natasha were trying their hardest not to giggle. Remus however, was looking at Peter in a rather disapproving way, clearly deep in thought. Bruce and Clint just stood there, amused by Peter’s glowing emotions.

At least I’m not stuck with him… Clint thought to himself. I might not have been chosen yet, but that Peter sure looks…clingy. Clint shuddered at the thought, his arm hairs prickling and standing up.

“Uh, right, tutor buddies it is.” Steve said, forcing himself to smile delightfully.

“What about Clint?” Natasha spoke up, eying Clint with great concern. Before anyone had a chance to speak, it was Remus who pounced head first.

“Clint can be tutored under me. It’s no big deal.” Remus said grinning, and Clint walked over to Remus and Bruce, feeling himself unease. Remus seemed pretty chill. He was calm, cool, and collected. Clint decided that he could roll with that.

“And I’ll help in assisting Peter with tutoring Steve. Peter is more of a Herbology and history nut. Not very good with a wand and potions. No offence, Pete.” Remus continued, still eying Peter with disapproval. Peter shuffled nervously in his spot.

“Oh, but are you sure Remus? I’m happy and more than willing to take Clint or assist Steve.” Lily asked, biting her lip in concern. It was obvious that Remus was the only Marauder that Lily tolerated. Remus, nodded.

“I’m positive Lily. I’ve always wanted to be a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher anyway.” Remus said shrugging. “It would be like future preparation in a way.” At that, Snape snorted loudly and James turned to look at Snape with a scathing look.

“I wouldn’t question Remmy’s future Snivellus!” James warned dangerously through clenched teeth.

“Yeah! At least Moony here as a brighter future than you could ever have!” Sirius snapped. It was clear to everyone that they were inquiring to Snape’s future of being a Death Eater. After an uncomfortable silence, the old Headmaster looked up from his letter again.

“Well, if you are all done discussing matters, then I suppose you will all go to your first period classes. Your first session will be tomorrow for the full 5th period lecture and follow on as it should. Your professors are fully aware that you will be tardy, so do go to class.” Dumbledore said, momentarily eying James and Sirius. The two troublemakers briefly exchanged glances and awkwardly twitched under the headmaster’s stare.

“Good day, you are dismissed.” And with that, the student exited out of the office. While the Gryffindors and Snape headed out for Transfiguration, Tony, Bruce, and Clint headed out to the grounds for Care of Magical Creatures. As for Loki, he made his way to the dungeons for potions. It was now when the real magic begun.

Author’s Notes:
So I kind of paired them up according to their similar personae/background. Though the pairing of Steve and Peter isn’t fully accurate, it seemed to fit somewhat accordingly (it felt like a more comfortable ‘fitting’ versus Peter and Clint). And Peter had to tutor someone. The pairing descriptions are described below:
Snape and Loki: Let’s face it, they’re both misunderstood, have their own dark ways, and are completely isolated from those around them. They feel mocked in their existence by others who overshadow them. For Loki, it’s his brother, Thor. For Snape, it’s the Marauders, but more so, that prat, James Potter. Put them together, Snape and Loki are two peas in a pod! Strangely, I can picture them truly being BFFS growing up and in Hogwarts.
Sirius and Thor: Like mentioned in the previous chapter, Sirius can identify a lot of himself with Thor
. They are both strikingly good looking with the girls drooling over them; they both have younger brothers that are polar opposites of them; and as good natured and friendly as they rub off as, they have a rather short fuse. Both of their brothers are drawn to the dark side and have both experienced rejection from their families. And let’s not forget how reckless they are, for it was Thor’s fault he and the Avengers are there in the first place, and Sirius is always reckless!
James and Tony: They’re leaders. Plain and simple. They both have a somewhat egotistical mindset, a bit arrogant in a way, and like to lead on social wise. They are both annoying when they go overboard, and while James is head over heels for Lily, Tony subtly took interest in Lily as well. (It was subtly mentioned in the 4th chapter when Lily first appears.). They are both sarcastic and also a little bit snide.
Remus, Bruce, and Clint:  I paired Remus with Bruce and Clint because though they are both fairly quiet, they still exercise a big role in their group. The three of them are clever and take matters seriously, rather than lightly (unlike Sirius, James, Tony, and Thor). Remus could also find himself easily identifying with Bruce’s transformations of turning to the Hulk, for Remus is a werewolf himself. Bruce’s transformations commenced uncontrollably by anger, he just can’t help it. Remus cannot control being a werewolf either, his transformations happen whether he wants them or not. Also, with Remus being a werewolf, it is possible he felt somewhat scared and lonely at Hogwarts for his first time, afraid of rejection, identifying with Bruce’s feelings of being shy. (For some reason, I picture Bruce being shy when he was younger.)
Peter and Steve: Like mentioned, it’s the fan boy thing all over again. Peter likes to follow around his stronger peers, the peers who control more influence. During the Marauder era, Peter surrounded himself with friends who exercised a great control. They isolated Snivellus, they broke the rules, they were popular, and they lived in glory. Peter wanted that, but compared with his friends, he was just a silly follower. Though Phil Coulson was definitely not cowardly, (I was greatly upset when he died!), he shared that fan boy appreciation with Steve. He followed him around. He tried to have him sign his trading cards. Hell, he watched Steve when he was being revived from the ice! I figured, perhaps Peter will also be drawn to Steve. The pairing felt right, and I can picture Peter warming up to Steve quickly than with the rest.
Remus and Steve: I chose Remus to tutor Steve because he felt Peter might be a bit of a weaker tutor compared to Lily, James, Sirius, Snape, and him. Peter was always the more cowardly one of the Marauders and perhaps even the most apprehensive. He was weaker (obviously following the stronger seeming team. In ex: Voldemort and his betrayal) and was probably not as advanced in his classes (seeing how he looked unsure in his O.W.L.  Exams and tried to cheat in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.) Anyway, I chose Remus to assist with the tutoring of Steve because they both seem to be the ones to take responsibility, as in, taking the more serious side of things into deep consideration. Remus was always the more serious of the Marauders and didn’t exactly take part in the mocking of Severus (even though he didn’t put a stop to it either). He was a prefect, therefore he had his priorities straight, if not, then some of them. Being a Marauder, he also of course, had a streak for mayhem as well. As for Steve, he seems to take more seriousness into his role as an Avenger (his little argument with Tony back in the Helicarrier, and just the fact that they’re polar opposites). And even though he takes his job seriously, he tends to go his own way (like when he saves Bucky and his unit from imprisonment in the HYDRA organization fortress).
Natasha and Lily: Apart from the fact that they have red hair and a hot headed temperament, as well as being the only girls in the group, they tend to take their roles in their group with much importance. They are both bright, intelligent young women with their priorities coming first. Lily obviously was a good girl in school, being admired by many of the staff. She was bright and was made Head Girl and (most likely) prefect. As for Natasha, she isn’t a character of romance, or a distraction to the other Avengers. She plays as part of the boys, and saving the world comes first, romance being the least of her priorities.

Whoa. Okay, this is probably the first and last author’s note that I would ever post that is this long. It took up almost two pages on my Words Processor. And the next chapter is going to be pretty darn long (I suspect), so for those with the patience for me and my dragging chapters, thank you. Review please? They get me motivated with my writing!
