I am writing to inform you that you have been offered and unconditional internship at the Department of Documentation and Records.
The Department deals with all manner of documents: from wills to court orders. Under the internship you will learn the necessary skills to restore and preserve documents and the skills to find any document in the vast archives.
I am really excited to give you this opportunity and would love you to join the team next January.
As a Ministry of Magic formality I ask that you reply to the offer no later than the 20 July, this way provisions can be made.
If you have any further questions or simply want to find out more do not hesitate to contact me.

“WuuwuwuhhsSaahtueosdfofgjtjehwr!” I could not articulate my words.
“I think Rach is having some sort of fit.” Sam said looking concerned,
“I’ll get some water.” Said Paul reaching for a glass.
“Hang on.” Rich said pulling the letter out of my hand.
“Wohhuthunauhthhe!” he said turning to me.
“Is it contagious or something ‘cos Rich looks liked he is fitting too?” Sam said looking concerned,
“No stupid.” James said removing the letter from Rich’s hands who was staring at me.
“Wh-“ James said looking gobsmacked. “No way, you, you’ve got an unconditional offer from the Ministry?”
“What?” Shia shouted, yanking the letter out of James’ hands.
“Wow, Merlin!” she said rushing round and hugging me.
People were staring to give us strange looks; we were after all in the middle of breakfast and causing as scene.
“I know.” I said slowly,
“Congratulations.” Sam said giving me a thump on the back, which jolted me back into reality.
“OH MY MERLIN!” I screamed.
“Miss Edgley will you please control yourself!” Chubly shouted from the teachers table.
“Professor she has an unconditional offer from the Ministry!” Shia shouted back.
“Miss Grey-, hang on, really. Congratulations Miss Edgley, but please can you refrain from shouting profanities at breakfast.” Chubly shouted,
“Sorry,” we mumbled.
“Sam do you remember in first year when I shouted at you for helping me.” I asked.
We were all sat round under the willow tree next to the lake.
“Yeah, you thought I was James. How could you mistake me for him, I’m far better looking.” He said before we all broke out in giggles.
“Do- you –remember-that- time- you exorcised Molly.” Shia said between giggles.
James stopped laughing and looked at me.
“You actually did that?” he asked disbelievingly.
“Yes,” I said sheepishly.
“I thought it was a dream, so that means that you stunned me!” he said accusingly.
“We were young.” I said smiling hopefully at him,
He looked at me darkly, I turned to Shia and made an annoyed face at her.
“Do you remember that time Paul and you snuck out at night go to the kitchen and Paul got stuck in that step on the way?” James asked after a while of silence.
“Yeah, good times.” Sam said smiling wistfully,
“Yeah for you, but you left me there over night and then I got a month’s detention.” Paul said moodily.
“Do you remember that time that you had a crush on Rach?” Rich asked Sam who went bright red.
“Oh, dear. Samuel Blake.” I said laughing.
“What, you were hot.” He said edgily.
“Are!?” Shia questioned,
“You know what I mean.” Sam said smiling at her and taking her hand.
“But don’t forget that you used to fancy Rick Slaygan in second year.” I said turning to Shia who smiled.
“Oh yeah, he was quite cute.” She said reminiscing.
“More like a bad boy crush...” Fenna whispered,
“What about you then Rich, we all know who James had a monumental crush on, what about you?” I asked, turning to him.
He smiled at me, “In third year I had a crush on Rose, but then she was all, you know... the year after. Then if you want to know who I have a crush on now, well....”
“Who?” we pressed.
“Scarlet Dent.” He said smiling sweetly, his face lighting up.
“Good for you, she’s nice.” I said,
“She’s in Slytherin.” James said blankly.
“Well done James you can tell the difference between green and red.” I said sardonically,
“Get over it.” Fenna said rolling her eyes.
“What about you Fenna?” Sam asked,
Shia and I sniggered, we knew who she used to like.
“Well, I don’t like to say.” She said looking shiftily,
“Yeah because it was Sam you used to like.” Shia said pursing her lips and trying not to laugh.
“Well I like Albus now.”
“James what are we going to do next year?” I asked.
We were sat in the court yard soaking up the last rays of sunshine.
“Well, I don’t know. You have a job and I don’t have anything yet. I don’t even know what I want to do.” He said frowning.
“We could find somewhere I suppose, or ...?” I said trying to sound confident,
“We have to stay at it though, it has taken us too long to get where we are.” I said taking his hand in mine and trying to reassure him.
“I know.” He said leaning forward and kissing my forehead.
“James I don’t want to leave, my life is here.” I said, feeling tears forming in the corners of my eyes.
“I know, but you have to grow up sometime, and well now is the right time.”
“But everything is here.” I said trying not to cry and a tight knot forming in my throat.
“I’m not ready to grow up. For Merlin’s sake I’m not even eighteen yet!”
“I am, but I’m not ready either.” He said burying his head in my shoulder.
James still smelt like his shampoo which he had smelt of for ever, it was becoming a defining and homely smell for me. I was sure that the smell would linger with me for the rest of my life; even if we didn’t last as a couple.
I let the warm tears flow down my cheeks and when I started sobbing James sat up and looked at me.
“Don’t cry,” he whispered, wiping the tears away. But I couldn’t stop; they were coming thick and fast and there was nothing I could do about it.
In the end James cradled me in his arms and soothed me like a child.
“We have to grow up, it’s part of life. But you will always remember the people you met and the things you did when you were in your youth. It defines you.” He whispered to me.
“I know,” I muttered back.
