A/N I am so sorry. I cannot say words for how sorry I am about taking so long for the last update. I’m going to try to make this as long as possible. I love you all so much, thank you so much for your reviews! You don’t know how much they mean to me.
“This is insane.” Blaise muttered as the three of us silently walked through the halls. Luckily, the Heads’ dorm wasn’t too far, so it wasn’t far to go.
“Shush, we’re almost there.” Pansy whispered back, seeing the stairs and practically sprinting up to the top. Blaise and I ran after her, because she’d probably be the one to get us caught. We caught up to her standing there, her hands over her eyes. Suddenly I felt a sharp stinging pain in my eyes. I grunted, bringing my hand up to cover my eyes as well. I couldn’t see anything, and by the sound of things, neither could Blaise.
I heard a cloak drop. “Sorry,” Someone said in an apologetic tone.
“Who’s there?” Pansy asked, muttering a few cuss words after that. She was in a lot of pain, I could tell.
“Hmm…take a guess.” The girl replied sharply.
I rolled my eyes. “Honestly. Who?”
“Godammit, Granger’s dead.” Blaise said angrily. “Just tell us who you are.”
“Correct.” She said. Yes, the voice sounded like her, but Granger was dead, right?
“Explain…” Pansy said, and I couldn’t hold back a chuckle. This is crazy, we were all insane.
“I’m sorry, for the notes.” She said, quietly.
“Really, who are you?” I asked.
I heard a sigh from the other side. The pain from my eyes was removed. I opened them, blinked, and looked up to see a scarily familiar girl standing in front of me.
“Polyjuice potion?” I asked, still not believing it.
She shook her head and slapped me across the face. “No, in the flesh.” Granger shot back angrily, sitting down on the railing.
“What did I call you after the Yule Ball in fourth year?” Pansy whispered quietly, standing up.
“You called me a bitch.” She said back. “And told me I had no right to go around looking decent.”
Pansy took a sharp breath, her eyes wide. We all looked down at our feet nervously.
“You believe me now?” Granger asked sharply. We all nodded, sheepishly. The stinging pain returned to our eyes, and once again, we couldn’t see.
“So, you going to let us get arrested tomorrow?” Blaise asked, angrily. “Is this your little plan of revenge?”
“No,” She replied, angrily. “In fact, I was planning on letting them know I wasn’t dead.”
“Granger, honestly, explain something. If you’re not dead, then who is?” I asked, impatiently.
I heard her stop breathing. “Greengrass.” She said, quietly. I heard Pansy’s muffled tears, and a faint ‘why’ in there.
“She threatened me,” Granger went on. “I dunno why…but, she told me that…she wanted to die, and to take her place…I’ve been using Polyjuice Potion…” Pansy’s tears began to slow. There were footsteps on the stairs.
“I have to go,” She muttered, removing the charm that took away our vision. When we looked up, she was gone.
I sat up in my bed, rubbing my eyes. The dream I had just had rang clearly in my head, a little too clearly for my comfort. The memory had faded, and now I didn’t know if it was real or not. Is she dead? I wondered, nervously. I could hear a small, light, musical noise coming from downstairs in the common room. Walking down the stairs, I saw nothing but a small jewelry box sitting on the table. Opening up the lid, I realized it was one of those Astoria and Pansy had each had when they were younger, with the dancer that spun around in the center and the music that played. I grinned, although I didn’t know why. Sitting down in the chair across from it, I wound up the key in the back and watched it spin around, finding it strangely fascinating.
The portrait door opened and I looked up to find a very hysterical Pansy standing in the common room. She was still in her pajamas, a tank top and shorts, but her chest length black hair was stringy and dirty, and her skin was covered in a layer of cold sweat.
“What’s up?” I asked her, standing up.
“When I went to bed last night, Astoria wasn’t there,” She blurted out, talking fast “I figured she was out with a boy or something but when I woke up this morning, and that was really early, she wasn’t there either. Draco all her stuff’s put away, it’s all neat, I haven’t seen her since yesterday, and, and…oh my God…” Pansy stopped talking and her breathing became heavy.
“What?” I asked her, confused. She was acting really strange, I couldn’t tell what was up with her.
Her shaky arm motioned to the jewelry box. “That’s…Astoria’s…” She choked, “It was there when I went to bed last night.”
Was it a dream? Was it real? Where’s Astoria? What’s with the jewelry box? Who will know? ME!
