Ok, so that didn't work. What if I tried to wake him up, then I can get away, Hermione thought. Wait, how I’m I even going to wake him up I can barely move and if I do he will just hold me tighter. Maybe I can poke him awake.
"Good morning, love"
If Draco didn't have his arms around her she probably would have jumped three feet in the air. Ok, she wanted to wake him up but she was expecting a little movement or a groan not a fully articulated response. Sitting up, Draco had finally loosened up his arms, she glared at him.
"You've been awake this whole time?"
"How would you like me to answer that?" Draco said with a small grin on his face, trying not to laugh at Hermione. Turning around Hermione tried to get away from Draco but just before she got off the bed Draco grabbed her and pulled her towards him once again burying his head in the crook of his neck.
"Draco, can you let me go?"
The only response that she received was feeling his nose skim her neck as he shook his head no. She started to feel nervous when Draco started to move closer to her.
"Why do you always do that?" Hermione asked.
Moving his head up to ear Draco whispered, "Do what love?"
"Smell my neck."
"It calms me, why does it bother you?" Draco asked not realizing that he let a bit of hurt come out in the last part.
"No... I was just a bit curious," Hermione said when she heard the hurt in his voice, "but aren't you supposed to be better now that you marked me?"
Letting out a sigh Draco said, "I actually needed to talk to you about that."
"Is something wrong did you not do it right?"
Draco pulled away and lay on his back bringing Hermione up against his side. "No, it’s just that I had the dream again and let’s just say that you play another part in the marking process."
"What do mean?"
"You mark me. The dream is the same with marking you but it continues from there. And I’m trying to figure out if I missed that because we woke up to help Blaise or if it only revealed itself after I marked you."
"Well, what do your books say?"
"You're the smart one did you already forget that every veela's marking is different."
"Hey, don't insult me. I have had to take in a lot of things these past few weeks, or did you forget that part. You try loosing your friends, befriending someone who was supposedly the enemy, finding out that both of your new friends are veela, to being the mate to one, and having to let them mark you unless want them to go either insane or die."
"Sorry love I didn't mean to..."
"It's ok," Hermione cut him off, "I’m the one that should be sorry. It’s just that I’ve never been in a situation like this. I’ve never even had a boyfriend and I just agreed to spend the rest of my life with you. While you obviously have a lot of experience," Hermione said once again embarrassing herself. She started blushing when Draco's only response was to laugh at her, before he pulled her on top of him and unexpectedly gave her a quick kiss.
"Trust me Hermione you have nothing to be sorry for. I actually like that you’ve never had a boyfriend. Remember, I was already I possessive git before I became a veela image now. I’m filled with what I guess you could call satisfaction that I will be your first in other areas. And I have no idea where you are getting your information, but I don't have a lot of experience and the girls that I have dated can't compare to you."
"You're just saying that to make me feel better," Hermione said for once feeling comfortable being close to him.
"Of course, I’m just saying that to make you feel better," Draco said sarcastically, "and so I can do this..." Draco said before he rolled them over and gave Hermione another kiss before he pulled away and gave a low growl towards the door. Hermione was confused until she heard the knock at the door.
"Draco calm down, I’m right here," she told him before she yelled at the door, "Come in."
"Dude, relax it’s just me and Ginny, no need to worry," Blaise said as he walked in.
"See, Blaise I told you we should have come later. He is still all over her," Ginny said sending a playful glare towards Blaise.
After hearing what Ginny said, Hermione realized that Draco was still on top of her glaring at Blaise. 0k, I am getting way too comfortable around him, if him being on top of me feels like it is an everyday occurrence.
"Draco, look at me. I said look at me," Hermione demanded until Draco was looking at her with loving eyes that were slightly glowing. Great, he let his veela side take over. How do I get him to snap out of it?
"Draco, it’s just Ginny and Blaise. I can assure you that Ginny and I are only sisters and that we don't see each other in any other way. And Blaise may be a veela but he is also, like a brother to me. A veela brother that has a mate of his own." Hermione said slowly, while making him stare her in the eyes, hoping that they had some type of effect on him. Slowly, Draco closed his eyes before he buried his face once again in Hermione’s neck, just like a scared little kid would, while he kept apologizing over and over again.
"Don't worry about it,” this time it was Blaise who spoke up, "remember being a veela brings out the child in us which includes the irrational possessiveness, jealously, and attachment to things."
Draco looked over at Blaise while he spoke when he noticed that he was holding Ginny fairly close to him. He was curious as to why until I light bulb when off in his head.
"Gin is your mate?"
Ginny's face turned a shade of red that match her hair while she mumbled a yes. Hermione just couldn't stop looking between Blaise and Ginny, while Blaise just brought Ginny closer to him with a grin on his face.
"When did you find out?" Draco asked confused he couldn't remember a time when Blaise had told him that he had found his mate.
"The time that you guys locked me up in Gin's room was when I first noticed it but I didn't realize that the sent belonged to her until both you and Hermione did your own thing leaving us alone."
"Have you marked already?" Hermione asked, directing the question more to Ginny than Blaise.
"Yeah, it was after a few days that Draco kept himself locked up and we barely saw you. Blaise took it harder than I did and while I was comforting him it sort of just happened. I already knew that he was a veela and found out about being his mate the same day he did because Blaise can't really keep a secret." Ginny said. She had stopped feeling embarrassed after she started talking about Blaise and Hermione could see the love in her eyes.
"Did she have to mark you?" Draco asked Blaise curious about his own situation with Hermione.
"Yeah, I found that weird and of course I couldn't ask you. Plus, things were moving faster with me and Ginny then you and Hermione so I didn't think much of it. Why did Hermione have to mark you?"
"Yeah, she hasn't done it yet because I wasn't aware of the fact until after I had already marked her and the books don't really say much."
"Maybe we should go Gin and let Hermione do her part. We did only come to check on him and I would like to talk to him with out him growling at me. I’m serious Draco I think the whole castle heard you." Blaise said with a slight smirk.
"Well, I wouldn't have had to growl at you if you would had stayed away and waited for us," Draco said annoyed at Blaise's light teasing.
"I was only pointing out the obvious no need to kill me. Bye Hermione I will hopefully see you tomorrow of course that is if Draco gets off of you long enough so you can actually get away."
"Get out," Draco said through gritted teeth.
"Ok, ok we're leaving," Blaise said before both him and Ginny walked out the door. As soon as, the door closed Draco once again buried his face in Hermione’s neck.
"Draco, that was rude they only wanted to see how you were doing?" Hermione chastised him.
"But it got rid of them didn't it?" Draco said with a grin before Hermione playfully hit him on the head.
"So, Hermione, are you ready to mark me?"
Sorry, for the long wait. Please review.
