"Sirius stop!" Mel said, giggling uncontrollably as I tickled her on her sensitive spot on her stomach.
"What was that? Don't stop?" I said with a smirk, looking at her flushing beautiful face.
She was laughing harder and harder until Prongs said finally, "You two disgust me! All cute and sugary. Bah!"
Mel rolled her bright brown eyes and strode over to the couch in the Common Room and sat down, soon joined by me. I wrapped my arm around her.
"Where were you guys last night anyway?" Mel asked us.
"Well, remember Remus's um, condition?" I answered, hinitng about the whole werewolf thing. Aw, good times.
"Oh right. Did you guys have fun?" she inquired.
"Hello! Of course!" I said. "Though Remus is still recovering upstairs."
"Keep your voice down," Prongs said, eyeing a couple of second years talking the corner near us.
"Don't worry Prongs. They haven't learned about werewolves yet. Remember you don't learn about them until third year," I reassured Prongs.
"I know but still. Some of the little midgets can be pretty cleaver," Prongs said.
"Nah…anyway where is Lily by the way?" Prongs pressed.
"She's in the library with Darci. They are studying I think." Mel informed him.
"Studying? God they must be bored. Not to worry I will go fetch them and bring them to the fun!" Prongs said, standing and heading towards the portrait hole. "Back in a flash!" And he disappeared out the hole.
"God I hate Sundays!" I said, thoroughly bored. "It always ruins your weekends thinking that the next day is Monday!"
"Yeah…" Mel said, sighing and resting her head on my shoulder.
Just then I spotted Moony heading down the boys staircase looking tired and sick.
"You all right Moony?" I called.
"Yeah I think. Just a bit tired. Last night was a blast though as always," Moony said, with the look of someone recalling a drunken party the previous night.
"Yeah! Good times," I said, recalling last night.
"Marauders…" Melanie said under her breath. I laughed.
"We're back!" I heard Prongs voice say as the sound of the portrait hole sounded.
I turned my head to see him leading Lils and Darci towards the couch.
"Hello ladies," I said as they came and sat opposite us on the other sofa.
"Hello Sirius," Lily said sweetly.
"Hey where's Peter?" Darci asked.
"We ditched him yesterday. He was being quite annoying to be honest," I explained. Lily giggled.
Just then, There was a loud bang and a crash. Then all of the sudden the whole Common Room was filled with overwhelming sparks and fire. A blinding pink light shocked the Common Room and people screamed and scattered.
"Ah!" the voices of Gryffindors sounded, as they ran for cover behind couches or chairs. I however looked to where the disturbance was coming from and saw that someone had thrown a firework through the window from the grounds.
"Someone through water on it!" Lily shouted, hiding behind the couch with Mel and Darci. This cracked me up. Girls…
I quickly ran over to the firecracker and took out my wand and sent a spell at it, but all it did was blow up even bigger.
"Shit," I said, stumbling back from the flame.
"Here, I'll get rid of it," Prongs said, striding over and easily sending a spell to it. It gave as pop and was quickly extinguished, leaving a dark splotch in the carpet. Everyone cheered and came out of their hiding places.
"Who the bloody hell did this?" Moony asked, walking over to the window and gazing out.
"I don't know, but it was bloody brilliant!" Prongs laughed.
"No, actually it wasn't. We've done that prank a million times. Whoever did this was a copier for sure," I said, looking out the window as well, but no one was there.
"Actually, we should have realized this was coming," Moony said. "It was the Slytherins. I bet you anything!"
"Ha! That was a bad comeback!" Darci said, smirking.
"Yeah no kidding!" Mel laughed.
"Hey, I don't know about you mates but I'm gonna go see where the brats are now. I'll give them some advice on how to prank," I said, turning and heading to the portrait hole.
"We'll stay, thank you," Mel said, with Darci and Lily looking like thy agreed.
"Your loss," Moony said, shrugging.
"Oh well, let's go find some serpent!" I said, as the whole gang headed out the portrait hole and down the corridor.
"Where are they?" Prongs wondered, when we had reached the second floor. "The little buggers aren't anywhere to be seen!"
"No, they are here somewhere, hiding I guess," Moony said, looking around.
"Here, this way," Prongs suggested, pointing down a long deserted corridor.
So we all headed down there, looking for the Slytherin gang.
But halfway down the corridor, before any of us could react, running towards us, in black robes and carrying dungbombs ran the whole gang of Slytherins.
"Attack!" they all shouted lamely. They then chucked ten dungbombs at us, covering us in muck.
Dungbombs splattered all over us as they ran past, bolting away.
"Hey! Get back here you little ferrets!" I yelled, wiping dung out of my hair.
"Those little buggers! They copied out prank again!" Prongs said, outraged.
"Yeah! There's no way they are getting away with this one!" Moony said.
Then I said, with a mischievous glare, "This means war."
(Back to Mel's POV)
Lily, Darci and myself were sitting on one of the sofas in the Common Room when I heard the portrait hole burst open. I turned around in my seat on the couch to see a fuming Sirius followed by the two other Marauders.
"What happened?" I asked as they came over near Lily, Darci and I.
"Those stupid Slytherins thought they'd have a go at us. But the slime balls stole our pranks! But they aren't going to get off easy, mark my words!" Sirius explained.
I laughed "Is that all? I thought something worse!"
"Don't laugh! They stole our pranks! That can't go unpunished!" James said, as if this was some sort of mortal offense.
I just laughed again and said, "You guys take these things too seriously!"
"We do not!" Sirius retorted.
I just simply rolled my eyes like I had so many times.
"Well, you girls wouldn't understand the art of prank anyway," Sirius remarked.
I gave him a look. "The art of prank? What exactly is art about it?"
"Everything! It takes great skill to be a prankster you know!" James cut in.
I laughed. "Yeah, I bet it does." Darci said, rolling her eyes as well.
"Girls, girls, girls!" Remus said, shaking his head. "I wouldn't expect you to understand it anyway!"
"Oh well…fine we don't. Are you happy now? Gosh!" Lily said.
James just waved it away, "No but I'll act happy for your sake Lils,"
Lily laughed and said contentedly, "Good boy, James. Now, why can't you Marauders just forget about this whole Slytherin prank war thing and be friends! Wouldn't that be easier?"
"No!" Sirius said, as if that was a crazy idea. "This is not ending in surrender. We will get them back, you mark my words!"
"Have it your way then. Nothing good comes from war," Lily said.
"I'll ditto that," Darci said.
"As will I!" I spoke up.
"Fine. You girls can just be peace protesters and we'll have all the fun!" Sirius said, with a triumphant sort of expression.
"I highly doubt this little house rivalry will be fun!" Lily muttered to me.
