Wow, that made me see her in a completely different light. Really sad though. I pity her, even though I hated her in the books and movies.

So, I can't imagine Dolores saying 'mummy' (last lines), but other than that, splendid characterisation! You really did succeed in giving me a very different outlook on Dolores! I loved this bit first of all: "I guess I always hated children because it reminded me of my childhood." That was the first part that sort of explained Umbridge's actions. Throughout it all though, I was wondering if you were going to make something happen that would explain why Umbridge acted so badly. I thought you wouldn't. But then you completely surprised me and did! In a wonderfully original way. Her mother having cancer, and then Umbridge vowing to kill all muggles was really, really clever. Such a brilliant idea. This definitely was a good piece that showed a different side to Umbridge than I've ever thought.

I really liked Umbridge's reflection in Azkaban too. She's finally delving back into her childhood memories. Ooh! I also really liked how explained why she wears pink all the time! This really was a clever fic, and lovely writing!
