Review:CambAngst says:
Oh, Peter, you rat, you!

I thought that you had a really interesting take on Peter's character here, although I can't actually say that it made me view him in a more sympathetic light. I thought you did a fantastic job of building up the camaraderie among the Marauders and the genuine affection that Peter felt for the others and vice versa. James, Sirius and Remus treated him like a brother. They saw qualities in Peter that he was never able to see in himself. With their support, he was able to be brave and clever and part of a truly amazing group of young wizards who left an imprint on Hogwarts. The way that they refused to let him be down on himself after he learned his Animagus form was a classic example of the unconditional support they bestowed upon him.

You did such a good job with his memory of his friends that I found it even harder, I think, to buy the notion of his betrayal as a "colossal mistake". That mistake -- if you want to look at his joining of the Death Eaters as such -- could have been easily rectified. He chose to reveal James and Lily's secret. He knew that because of that choice, they and most likely their son were going to die. As mistakes go, that one's pretty hard to forgive.

In the final analysis, I think you did a good job of characterizing Peter's final moments. Whether out of remorse or because of his life debt to Harry, Peter did succeed in keeping Voldemort's bewitched silver hand from killing Harry in the basement of Malfoy Manor. I just can't quite bring myself to see that as redeeming his betrayal.

All in all, I thought your writing was really good in this. The story flowed very well and nothing sounded forced or artificial or out of place. Good job!
