GAH... Don't you hate it when you write out an awesomely long review and then you lose it!! Stupid internet... Anyway, moving on.

I'm in love with your writing. Your words are amazing and I wish I wrote even half as well as you do. On top of that you express feelings in the words that are prefect. That may be confusing but I'll try to explain what I mean a bit better. Example "She heard the melody of soft words slipping from his lips. He was singing to her, singing her back into the black fog that protected her from the jagged edges of reality. Singing her into the sleepy world where nothing could hurt." I have been there, I have felt the pain that numbness and sleep is the only defense because reality is sometimes too had to face. The words you use are beautiful.

I love that we are starting to see the protective side of James but it has nothing to do with love. He just wants her to be okay. It is refreshing because the normal portrayal of James is a love sick puppy.

The ending in the compartment with James and Lily was light and sweet. It showed a hint of what might be to come with James and Lily. It showed the hope and Lily's will is strong enough that she will get over her loss eventually. And the last line was lovely. I loved it. Home. It is exactly what Lily needs.

Author's Response: Oh gosh, I've done that too many times! I now write in a pages document and then copy and paste, just in case :P

Meg! You are going to make me all feelsy. Now I just want to hug you. I'm so happy you like my writing ♥ I'm not happy that you've been in the sort of pain that allows you to identify with Lily, but I am really happy that I wrote her feelings realistically. And that's exactly what I wanted to show with James. He didn't magically just turn into a good guy because he liked Lily. He's always been a good guy. He just grew up a little, and the seriousness of this situation brings out that side of him. He's identifying with her as another human being in an unimaginable amount of pain, and he wants to help. See, now I'm all happy at James and I want to hug him :P
