It was beautiful beginning for this fic. The founders' era is really unappreciated in fanfics, which is such a shame when one thinks about all the possibilities for interesting plots.

I liked how you put Mirror of Erised there to reflect Bloody Baron's past life and his unfilled hopes and wishes. In canon he is such an imposing figure that it was good idea to show his vulnerabilities right from the start and make him much more relatable.

Your descriptions brought the feelings home even when there was not any dialogue. It spoke to me in deeper level than any talk would have done.

Your writing was really enjoyable to read. The flow kept me glued to the story right from the start to the last word written. I'm actually rather anxious to read more of this story, so excuse me, but now I'm just going to click the next chapter and leave this review bit shortish.

I agree; I think Founders' Era is really interesting, although I have to admit that I didn't really start to believe that until I began a Founders' Era story. Now, though, I love exploring the characters and playing with the regal themes. It's an intricate time period.

I think that if anyone would be a victim of the Mirror, it would probably be someone like the Baron, with plenty in his mortal life to regret. I do hope to use this story to breathe life into these characters and make the events in their lives seem more real, and it sounds like I've already begun to accomplish that, which is great. It's lovely to hear that my imagery helps drive home the characterization, too.

I'm glad you liked the flow and emotion as well, and I hope you do return soon to read on!
