^ I think that pretty much summed up the entire chapter. Wow. Seriously. Wow. I know it's a word I repeat in my reviews to you a lot but I don't know...it's the best word to really define what I'm feeling that's 12+.

The scene with Andromeda, really. At first I just thought she figured that it was someone but not Narcissa but then when she said her name it broke my heart. She really had to deal with so much because of her 'silly' sisters. Bellatrix has always been too far gone but really Narcissa could have ended up on either side if I think about it. I don't know if you would agree.

Author's Response: Oh yay, I'm glad you liked that bit! That's exactly what I was going for: an overall summary of Lucius and what he's like, and why he does what he does. He's sort of blinded to his mistakes until he can view them in hindsight.

Narcissa could have gone either way, I think, and if she hadn't ended up with Lucius, she might have followed in Andromeda's footsteps. It was all sort of one door after another that she took that led to her fate. Like Lucius, I think she was too proud and too invested in the present to take stock of herself and her surroundings until it was far too late.
