Welcome to harrypotterfanfiction.com, the oldest, (and best) unofficial dedicated Harry Potter Fanfiction site on the net. Founded in February 2001, we currently hold over 60,000 stories and receive, on average, over 30 million hits per month. To find a story, please click here to use our search engine, or scroll a little further down to the right of the page to see a list of 'Genres' and 'featured stories'. If you would like to write a story for the archive, please click the 'write stories' link in the navigation box and then 'register an account'. We hope you enjoy your time on the site and manage to find a story that you enjoy. If you read any of the stories here, please remember to leave a review. Authors thrive on feedback and your reviews help them to improve as writers. Thankyou for taking the time to stop by.

timeturner on 2009.08.17 - 08:37PM Forum Down
As many of you know, our forum has been quite temperamental lately (deciding which pm's to send and what posts to allow you to see, not to mention reducing post counts and such). Well, today, she decided to remain in bed and just take a long nap.
Rest assured, we are aware of the problem and it is being worked on. Please do not send emails and/or enter trouble tickets about the issue. It will be back up and running as soon as possible.

timeturner on 2009.08.12 - 04:51PM HPFF United Story Challenge
The Princely Summer contest is still under way at HPFF, and members have been working on a special collaboration illustrating teamwork and unity while earning some points for their respective houses. The HPFF United story has now finished taking submissions, and all the entries are validated and ready to be read. The prompt, devised by the head prefects of each house, was to write a one shot about a Harry Potter character's attempts to create unity between houses or amongst one another in the face of adversity.
Twenty-five authors submitted stories, and every story earned the author's house 30 points. In the end, Ravenclaw had 9 submissions for a total of 270 points, Slytherin and Hufflepuff both wrote 6 stories for a total of 180 points each, and Gryffindor submitted 4 stories for 120 points.
Thank you to all the authors who participated. All the stories submitted can be found under the penname "HPFF United."
Please stop by the forums for details on how to participate in future site competitions.

Up and Running
Thanks to the amazing work of our site owner, the HPFF archives and forums are up and running correctly once again. There are still a few small glitches being ironed out (yep, that includes those annoying /// in the review responses), and if you encounter anything strange, please report it in the Ask The Staff or Forum/Archive Issues sections of the forums.
If any of your stories/reviews/posts disappeared during the crash and have not yet returned, they are unfortunately most likely lost for good. Please feel free to repost them at any time.
Arithmancy_wiz on 2009.07.10 - 11:41AM Downtime
As many of you have undoubtedly noticed, the site has been experiencing some downtime over the past few days. The staff is fully aware of the issue and all efforts are being made to get things up and running again as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, some of the more recent adds (new chapters, reviews, forum posts, ect) have disappeared. Some have already re-appeared, but until all the server issues have been fixed, these types of things may continue to happen. The best thing to do is just hang tight. We’ll let you know when everything is working correctly. Thanks for your patience!
Arithmancy_wiz on 2009.07.01 - 01:18PM Queue Open For Business
We hope our holiday hasn't causes any writer's block! We are again, open for business. The deadline for the June Staff Challenge (#2) has been extended until June 26 in light of the closure.
LogicalRaven on 2009.06.25 - 10:54AM Queue Closure
The queue will be closed June 12 through June 24 for the staff's annual summer vacation. Trusted authors will be still be allowed to post during this time.
The deadline for the June Staff Challenge (#2) will be extended until June 26 in light of the closure.
As to the HPFF United Collab for the Princely Summer Event, your house staffer can still accept submissions during the staff vacation. However, this is their vacation time so it would be best for you to ask in advance if your staffer will be available for posting of submissions. If not, your house will need to find an alternate validator to accept the submissions. Someone on staff is always around to keep things running smoothly so you should have no problems finding someone to assist you with submissions.
